Animal Prints for the 50’s, 60’s & 70’s–Business version

Quote of the day: “Be an ambassador for the kind of world you want to live in.” Julie Andrews

Can you wear animal prints to work?  I would say yes in most workplaces. Of course it all depends on the fit and style of your animal print item, but really that’s the case for any piece of clothing.  The goal is to keep it subdued, covered up and low-key. This can be accomplished by adding a blazer or cardigan and work appropriate shoes. What do you think? See these same animal print items styled for the casual day here.

50’s Animal Print (Dress): For the business casual version of the leopard dress, I added a blazer and black pumps…it really can’t get more business appropriate than that.  I had to add just a touch of color in the necklace.

60’s Animal Print (Shirt): The snakeskin shirt is perfect under most jackets!  Even if you removed the jacket, I think it would work wonderfully.

70’s Animal Print (Sweater): You can layer a sweater cardigan over another sweater! The muted colors and white blouse make it office acceptable.  I added a little color in the earrings for interest and almost wish I’d added a turquoise necklace.

All 3 are very crisp and fresh. Your dress is very feminine and versatile. Particularly love Charlotte’s outfit.

    • Jodie Filogomo

      Thanks Kathleen!!
My mom was just thinking of why I had put her in this cardigan for the animal print theme when we were looking back the other day. She had totally forgotten that the flower material was a zebra print.

  • Thanks for linking up to Top of the World Style. Thanks to your models too.

  • The 50’s look is my favorite. The small animal print, especially for a slender model, I feel is a wise choice, and with the black jacket (or better yet a black cardigan…) the look really comes together nicely. I also like the length of the dress. To me the look is very feminine yet given the choice of black tights over sheer hosiery, I think it would be fine in most any office setting. Very cute!

    • Thanks Paula!! Seeing these pictures reminds me that I should wear the dress more!!

  • I think animal print is here to stay. I love to wear a piece of it somewhere. It adds style. Thanks for sharing.

  • Very pretty looks! Love the pop of yellow in that necklace, Jodie! And thanks for being my #1 link up this week!

    • I noticed that I was the first…your email must have come in the minute before I checked it….talk about great timing!! Happy weekend!!

  • Both series just show how versatile animal prints are. Gone are the days when it was a bit cheap unless of course you dress from head to toe! Really like all the outfits but I have to say, Jodie, you rock it this week with your dress and what a great touch of choosing the yellow necklace with it. Meeeeeeeow!

    • Thanks Jacqueline!! I laugh because I’m sure 10 years ago, I said I’ll never wear animal prints!! And now I love them!!
