Black & White for the 50, 60, & 70 Year Old Women with brights.

Black & White for the 50’s, 60’s, & 70’s: Alongside Bright Colors

Quote of the day: “Experience is what causes a person to make new mistakes instead of old ones.” Anonymous

Back in March I showed other combinations with black and white starting here. This combination with the bright colors is probably one of my favorites as I love color and how it makes me feel happy! Luckily we all had plenty of brilliant colored items to choose from in our closets! Nancy got dazzling pink, mom got intense yellow-gold and I got a mixed bag of bright blue, pink, yellow (my earrings) & red (my bracelet)! I styled these same black & white items of clothing with pastels in the last post here.

50’s Black & White (Dress): Instead of picking one bright color to focus on, I went with them all (pink shoes, blue scarf, yellow earrings & red bracelet).

60’s Black & White (Sweater): Hot pink may not seem like a fall & winter color, but I think it’s the perfect pick-me-up to the winter blahs!

I always love a pop of bright with black and white. All great looks! I have the same sweater as Nancy and will need to pair it with my pink pants next time. Thank you for being a part of TBT Fashion link up and hope to see you soon!

  • Love love love all of these! I think the outfit for the 70s is actually my favorite… I love how you pared a tunic with a significantly shorter sweater and it looks AWESOME. That wouldn’t have occurred to me! Brilliant.

Thanks for sharing at Friday Frivolity!! Pinning and tweeting. 😀

    • Thanks Sarah….Mom’s outfit did turn out good…especially because when I first had her put it on—I got that “really?” look from her! So we were happily surprised at the result. But as we always joke—a blind squirrel gets a nut every once in a while!!

  • I love black and white. It provides such a nice backdrop for any color mix. Thanks for adding your unique style point of view to the My Refined Style Linkup.

That yellow is beautiful. Reminds me of sunflowers.

And Nancy’s trousers…..off to look for pink trousers too….you are a bad influence, jodie!

      • I wouldn’t say “bad” influence—I’d say it’s more like an opportunity to explore different colors/pieces that you don’t normally try! And can I just say that you have been that same enabler for me? Love your expressions Samantha—they make me smile!

I have just ordered fuchsia trousers….so thank you and thank Nancy too! XX
