Bright Handbag for the 50’s, 60’s, & 70’s: Matching
Quote of the day: “Everyone you will ever meet knows something you don’t.” sign seen at Park Avenue Methodist Church, New York
We were gifted these handbags from AmiClubwear but I was not paid for this post.
Here’s a lesson I’m sure we’ve all heard over and over: Never judge a book by it’s cover. This series of posts about a bright handbag is a great example. When I was first contacted by AmiClubwear, I thought, “Really? I’m an old lady, not a club goer!” And sure, many of their items are not my cup of tea. But there are actually plenty of pieces that are great and would work in my world. And these purses are a prime example. Today I’m styling them to match our outfits…not that I usually get dressed using my purse as my inspiration. But I might think about it when I grab it to leave for the day. The first post in this series was showing these same purses as a pop of color (here).
50’s Handbag: Here’s an advantage to a larger purse…it can hide your knees if your dress is slightly short…ha ha!!
60’s Handbag: This necklace is reversible to black & white! What a great characteristic!! (I’ll show it reversed in a future post!)
70’s Handbag: We could have accessorized with purple shoes, but I liked the green a little better!
Thanks for reading! Do you change your purse to match your outfit?
