Capes/Ponchos for the 50’s, 60’s, & 70’s: The Dressy Version

That fantastic cape or poncho you have can be a perfect outer layer to a dressy outfit. You certainly don’t want to put on your ski jacket for warmth when you are going out. To me, throwing a poncho over your outfit adds an element of flair. We wore these same items for a casual day (here) and out to an appointment (here).
50’s Cape/Poncho: I tried tying the ends of my poncho in the front…kinda weird.

60’s Cape/Poncho: You may think it silly to be bare legged when there’s snow on the ground. But if you live in Denver, you know that the sun can warm it up to 60 degrees after a snow!

70’s Cape/Poncho: This time the cape really is the stand out to the outfit. I’d want mom to wear this to an event where she wouldn’t be taking off her coat.
