Crew Neck Sweaters for the 50’s, 60’s & 70’s
Quote of the day: “What you wear is an indication of who you are.” Valeria Boucas
That crew neck sweater in your closet is such a classic. One of the more modern ways to style it is with a collared shirt underneath. Leaving the tails of the blouse to hang outside the sweater can be a nice detail. The different blouses under the same sweater can change the entire look. If your sweater hangs too long, it’s easy enough to fold it under at the bottom. For more crew neck sweater examples, refer back to Styling Discussion 1 (here).
50’s Crew Neck Sweater: In this example, my blouse has no breast pockets, but it is one that tends to gap on it’s own. This is why I love it under the sweater. And the burgundy and peach color combo is a favorite of mine because it looks happy!

60’s Crew Neck Sweater: A flowered print blouse adds some interest with this sweater. Great tidbit is to recognize that white jeans are now a great neutral anytime of the year.
70’s Crew Neck Sweater: Again I paired a print blouse under this solid colored sweater. This blouse is silky and therefore creates a beautiful contrast against the casual vest. The vest is another way to cover up any extra bumps the blouse may produce under the sweater.
