Easter Outfits with VIPme.com

So if you’re anything like me, Easter means a new outfit! Not that I need anything new, but the holiday is usually around the beginning of spring, and it’s always fun to get something different. Although I realize that Easter is still a month away; it’s never too early to start planning, especially if you want to order something online!

I’ve been a huge fan of VIPme.com ever since I saw one of their items on another blogger last year! They are kind enough to send us each an item of clothing, but I don’t get anything else to introduce you to them! I just find so many of their pieces to be so beautiful and drool worthy and usually under $100! Their site is quite extensive, so I also showcased some other lovely items below! And if you want to order, take advantage of the discount I can provide: Use code Jodie415 for $5 off an order of $50!

As for the Easter holiday, I find it quite frustrating when I plan on wearing something and the weather says otherwise. So I thought for our items from VIPme.com, I would try to show 2 scenarios. One when the weather is just lovely, and you can bare your legs. And the other when Mother Nature brings on a storm and you need to keep covered!!

And since I realize that there are quite a variety of different looks that women wear for Easter or even Mother’s Day—I thought I’d show an assortment of items. I chose a blouse, Nancy got a dress/tunic, and mom received a duster/cardigan!

Jodie’s (50’s) Warm Temperature Outfit: I’ve been oogling over the fun sleeve details that I’ve seen everywhere lately! And then add these lively colors to the shirt and I knew I’d wear this one a ton! The shirt is a silky material with elastic at the bottom! I always like the elastic detail at the bottom of a shirt, because then I never need to decide whether to tuck it in or leave it out!

The blouse has this interesting pearl tipped stick across the front. You do need to unscrew it to get it over your head, but then you can also leave it off if you don’t like it (or decorate it with something else like I did below)!

Stylish Women of Many sizes, ages & budgets.

I tend to think of Easter as the time to wear a lot of color, so I paired this with my yellow skirt! Hey, at least I kept the shoes more muted!

Skirt: LOFT (similar here in a lighter yellow or here in a jersey knit)~~Top: c/0 (here or here in white, pink or green)~~Shoes: (similar here with a lower chunky heel or here with ties)~~Earrings: (similar here)~~Sunglasses: LOFT (similar here)

Jodie’s (50’s) Cold Temperature Outfit: For the cold weather outfit, I decided to put on trousers and a turtleneck. I didn’t want to cover up the blouse so you wouldn’t be able to see the fun flare on the sleeves!

Yet, I wanted to try to show a different color scheme for this look! I picked my plum trousers, and included my yellow pumps (I had to sneak the yellow in there somewhere!)! Since I had to take the pearl stick out from the collar to change outfits, I decided to see if I could switch it up! So I tried placing a cuff bracelet in the grommets!

If this print is too bright for your taste, it also comes in green, pink or white as a solid colored blouse!

Pants: LOFT (similar here not as dark or here in a slim version)~~Turtleneck: (similar here)~~Top: c/o (here or here in white, pink or green)~~Shoes: Aldo (similar here)~~Earrings: (similar here in a circle or here in silver)~~Sunglasses: (similar here)

Nancy’s (60’s) Warm Temperature Outfit: Since everyone’s definition of an Easter outfit is different, I thought I’d try to show a dark item too! And then for the holiday, I added in bright accessories! We picked bright blue for the first outfit, but I think any bright colored necklace & earrings would pop against the grey & black.

Now, if you look closely at this dress on VIPme’s website, you may notice that the bottom hem is different. Nancy & I decided to cut off one of the layers so it wouldn’t be as much material (it’s actually just pinned up in these photos–but it’s on my list of alterations to do!).

Nancy’s (60’s) Cold Temperature Outfit: When I ordered this dress, I figured it would be a perfect tunic for layering over leggings! But why not layer on top of the dress too? That’s where the orange cardigan came in! If Mother Nature does give us a spring storm, Nancy will be ready for it!

Stylish Women of Many sizes, ages & budgets.

If we were styling from my mom’s closet, we probably could have found some orange shoes to match, but instead we went with the tried and true black shoes! We added in some melon & orange accessories instead!

For those interested, I would say that this dress runs bigger than most of the items we get from VIPme! The asymmetrical aspect of the hemline and the color blocking make it unique, and the reason I picked it for Nancy!

Dress: c/o (here)~~Legging: Cold Water Creek (similar here)~~Cardigan: (similar here a darker orange)~~Shoes: Charles by Charles David (similar here in leather)~~Necklace: (similar here in turquoise)

Charlotte’s (70’s) Warm Temperature Outfit: For my mom’s Easter piece, I picked out this green cardigan! It’s such a bright & vibrant color with my mom’s complexion! Even if the weather is nice, my mom and I always run cold, and take some kind of covering with us wherever we go! That was the reasoning behind choosing this item for mom!

Stylish Women of Many sizes, ages & budgets.

I wanted to keep mom’s outfit nice and light under the cardigan. She’s wearing a blush skirt and ivory shell that she made many years ago! We matched mom’s necklace to the painted floral design on the side of the duster! You can see the design in more detail below!

Skirt: Mom made it (similar here)~~Jacket: c/o (here also in wine, red & black)~~Top: Mom made it (similar here)~~Shoes: Alfani (similar here)~~Necklace: (similar here)

Charlotte’s (70’s) Cold Temperature Outfit: To keep mom warm in case the weather decides to be nasty for the holiday, I had mom put on her black pants and a long sleeve shirt!

Stylish Women of Many sizes, ages & budgets.

Of course mom wanted to match her green shoes to the long cardigan! You know how my mom loves her shoes almost as much as I do—that’s why there is a pair of green shoes in her closet! And then here’s what the floral design looks like up close!

Stylish Women of Many sizes, ages & budgets.

This cardigan/duster is a crinkly knit material that drapes nicely. It is fully lined, but sometimes the lining shows in the front when we took photos. My mom thinks that’s because the lining is a different material than the duster!

Pants: Talbots  (similar here)~~Jacket: c/o (here also in wine, red & black)~~Top: Design Today’s (similar here for limited sizes)~~Shoes: SRO (similar here in suede)~~Earrings: (similar here)

  • Your ruffle sleeve top is superb ! just the right way to wear it as these do not get int he way 😉

    • Jodie Filogomo

That’s totally what I think about when I see some of the other blouses with the flared sleeves, Lorena!!
I have another one that I just got and the sleeves are bigger. We’ll have to see if it bugs me or not!!
      Thanks!!

  • Debbie Stinedurf

All of the pieces are outstanding! I really love the blouse you chose…all of the colors make it super versatile. Ahhh…but your mom’s cardigan though…I agree with Shelbee. Swoon-worthy!

    • Jodie Filogomo

I’m with you too!! Mom’s cardigan is just such a stand out piece, isn’t it??
And it’s good that I picked it for her and for her to get a ton of compliments on it. She needs some self assurance these days!! (i always try to forward these compliments to her so she can see them too!!)
      Thanks Debbie!!

  • Jodie, I love all of these outfits, but it is Charlotte’s cardigan that has me in a complete swoon! The color is my favorite. The length is fabulous. The swinginess is superb! Oh…I am longing for it!

    Shelbee
    http://www.shelbeeontheedge.com

    • Jodie Filogomo

Isn’t it just the cat’s meow Shelbee!
I will admit that I was going to get it for myself. But once I saw that it’s a one size—I knew it’d be too overpowering on me. Luckily my mom is a couple of inches taller, and seems to work perfect for her!! I bet it’d look fantastic on you too!!

      • It really is, Jodie! I couldn’t find the measurements for it though when I looked. And I’m thinking your mom is quite a bit smaller than I am. I have very broad shoulders and usually need an XXL to fit comfortably across my back. Does it seem that big? Because I absolutely adore it!

        • Jodie Filogomo

My mom usually wears a 10 or 12 in women’s sizes. Her shoulders from one end to the other are 16″—so it might be too small although it could be considered a little big on her when I look at these photos. I’ll be over at mom’s later today—let me measure the shoulder width of it and give you a better idea!!

          • You are the best, Jodie! I need it to be at least 18″ and if want to layer more than a camisole under it, then 19″! Ha! I am an 18 in the shoulders and bust (which then ends up being huge everywhere else). #bigboobproblems #formerathleteproblems

          • Jodie Filogomo

I love your hashtags, Shelbee—you are a funny woman!!
Well, I measured it, and it’s only 17″ across . Bummeroni!

          • Hahaha! Thanks, Jodie! I think hashtags are hilarious! And thank you for measuring. Total bummeroni!

  • Ruth

I love your outfit with the plum pants. I like loud shirts, but I don’t look good in yellow. The yellow shoes look great with the plum pants.
The turquoise and silver look good on the gray.
And I think your mom’s necklace looks wonderful with the sweater and blouse! A perfect match! I think it looks great with the black pants and green shoes also!

    • Jodie Filogomo

Thanks so much Ruth for all of these wonderful compliments. I made sure to forward this to my mom & Nancy so they could enjoy it too!!
I think I’ll try my shirt with white jeans next—that might still be light and airy for spring, but not quite as loud as the yellow skirt?
      🙂

      • Ruth

The yellow is nice, too, I just like the plum color better. It’s just a matter of preferences, you know? The yellow for when you feel bold and the plum for when you feel demure. Both are pretty.
You could try it with your white jeans, too. I’m sure it will look great! The nice thing about having multiple colors in the blouse is that you can wear it with several different colored pants or skirts. Red and just the right shade of blue would also work, I think.

  • Sue Loncaric

Oh I love all of these outfits Jodie! You all look gorgeous as usual. Thanks so much for sharing with us at #OvertheMoon link up. I’ve pinned and shared.

      Thanks so much Sue!!

  • Your outfit is so perfect for spring! Loving the pattern and style of your top paired with your bright skirt! So many fun colors all of you are wearing. Happy Spring!! Thanks for sharing with us at On Mondays We Link-Up!

    Sarah
    Trendy & Tidy

    • Jodie Filogomo

Thanks Sarah! I do love wearing color–and spring is the perfect time to do it!

  • You look great in your Easter outfits, and such a good idea to have both cold and warm weather variants. That’s how we always have to think in the UK because you never know what the weather is going to do. Charlotte’s duster is lovely, particularly with the matching necklace. Very clever that you have altered Nancy’s dress. I need to do more with alterations but have to find someone to do it, as I’m useless with a needle.
    Gail

    • Jodie Filogomo

Thanks so much Gail! How come it only took me 50 years to figure out that I’d be happier with a plan B for the upcoming holidays?? LOL!
I’ve only just started doing alterations—and I can’t tell you how freeing it is! My mom is the biggest help to me, but I also use You Tube a ton!! It’s amazing how anything you want is there!!

  • Rina Doria

I love that you ladies shared how to layer each outfit in the event that it is a chilly easter. And I agree that Easter is a great time to show off some colour so I love that each outfit had splashes of colour, especially that stunning green jacket!

Thanks Rina! It’s always been frustrating to me when I have a great outfit for the holiday, but the weather is different than what I expected. So now, I figure I’ll be prepared—it only took me 50 years to figure this out—ha ha!

  • Wow! I love all the look, such a great post babe! Thanks for sharing! xoxo

  • These are great looks, all of you! I am partial to your mom’s gorgeous duster with floral detail. I am checking out this new-to-me site and liking what they show! xox

    http://notdeadyetstyle.com

    • Jodie Filogomo

Isn’t that color just so pretty on my mom, Patti!! I have a feeling, she’ll be wearing this lots!!

  • You are right. This is a lovely brand. I would gladly welcome a number of things. I like your blouse with the fun detail at the neck, I think Nancy’s dress is smashing in the warm weather outfit (the cardi is not my thing). And Charlotte’s green cardigan is sheer art. Gosh that looks good on her.
    Well done
    Greetje

    • Jodie Filogomo

I have the hardest time deciding on what to get for us each time, Greetje!! I’m like a kid in the candy store!! (or should I say a Greetje in a clothes shop?—LOL) 🙂

  • A duster used to be THE garment for Easter as there is almost always a cool spell then. Charlotte’s is lovely.

I almost always identify most with Nancy and her outfits. The cowl neck on her dress is a favorite of mine, preferable to a turtle neck. A small cowl can be pulled into a sort of flattering V in my opinion.

This post is filled with Easter ideas, not the least of which were the shoes!

    • Jodie Filogomo

Well, then I think getting my mom this duster almost classifies me as smart!! Ha ha!! But it is so hard to know what to expect at that time of year, don’t you think?
Nancy can pull off wearing the darker colors and it doesn’t wash her out—I’m always so jealous of that, because so many retail & online stores offer almost everything in black!! I think she’ll wear this quite a bit—especially next fall & winter! It’s quite warm with the long sleeves!!
I didn’t even think about the shoes—but floral, green, yellow—looks like spring & Easter to me!! Thanks for pointing that out, Jean!!

  • You picked beautiful pieces, Jodie! I just love your blouse! Such gorgeous, vibrant colors and interesting details. And I love the asymmetrical design of Nancy’s dress. Finally, how beautiful is your mom’s cardigan!

I also love that you styled each piece two ways! My mom always loved wearing a spring dress on Easter and often it was freezing. But she always suffered through the cold… Would have been great if she had had a plan B… 😉

    Have a wonderful Sunday!

    • Jodie Filogomo

That’s exactly me, Andrea!! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been stuck on either Easter or Mother’s Day with an outfit, but then I have to figure out how to change it for the weather!!
Thanks for the wonderful compliments!! I have been amazed at how much use we’ve all gotten out of our picks from VIPme each time!!

  • The site has got beautiful dresses! I am looking for a stunning dress for our anniversary party. The shop were I worked and bought all my clothing, has changed their style! To awfull! Now I cant find my style anymore. But it is always such a challenge to order from an American site. With sizes and so. You all look very beautiful as always! Have a great Sunday!

    • Jodie Filogomo

That’s such a bummer about the shop and how it changed, Nancy!!
Especially when you want something in particular!!
Thanks for the love and good luck with the search!

  • I really like each outfit for Easter! Your mom’s cardigan is so gorgeous…I’m adding that to my wishlist! I always think of colorful outfits for Easter as well. And VIPme.com does have wonderful clothing – I agree! I absolutely adore the dress I have from them. It’s really great quality for their prices.

I’m always in awe of the wonderful pieces VIPme has on their site too Lindsey!!
Isn’t the green, just so pretty!! I would have ordered it for myself, but I knew it would overwhelm me—luckily mom is a little taller than I am!

  • What a great concept for a blog! I just found out about it and I’m following it already! I really like all the outfits. Your mom is gorgeous!! That green looks amazing on her!

      Thank you so much!!

  • Pauline Starsmore

Got you this time.!!! Love your blouse it is so different.

    • Jodie Filogomo

Yippee!! I’m so glad it worked now!! Thanks for the lovely compliment, Pauline!!

  • Amy D. Christensen

You all look so pretty. I love both the warm and cold takes. That blouse you have is such a unique piece and I expect you’ll be wearing it often. It would look really cute with khaki’s and a denim jacket. Nancy’s dress is also very unique. It could be dressed up in a lot of fun ways by throwing on a scarf, vest or other statement pieces. I love you mom’s cardi. Bless her heart that her shoes match perfectly! Lovely Easter looks, Jodie. – Amy
    http://stylingrannymama.com/

    • Jodie Filogomo

      Thanks Amy!!
I love how you said bless her heart for my mom’s matching shoes!! I wonder how many women actually have green shoes in their closet! But leave it to my mom to have every color under the sun!!
      Happy weekend!!

  • donnaduck

Love all three outfits, Jodie! Yours is Easter personified for sure- bright, cheery, colorful! I like how you brightened up Nancy’s grey. And your mom’s green cardigan and shoes? Perfection for Spring! Good idea to show a warm and a cold weather version because Easter isn’t the easiest holiday to plan your outfit to- so iffy with the temperature in many parts of the country. In this part of PA, I always plan two different dresses, just to have it covered!

    Have a great weekend, Jodie!

    • Jodie Filogomo

I think Easter & Mother’s Day are always the hardest for me to plan because of our bipolar weather, Donna!!
Maybe I won’t be so frustrated if I have already planned for both cases beforehand?? We’ll see!!
      Thanks for the love!!

  • Terri Webster Schrandt

These outfits are all stunning! I love the yellow skirt, maybe a white top for me…but I am green about the green cardigan!! Great ideas, Jodie!

    • Jodie Filogomo

      Thanks Terri!!
I did just get some yellow print pants (from Chicos) and we kept trying the white tops with it to no avail! We ended up going with a black top—interesting, huh?
But isn’t that green so bright and cheerful on mom?? I think it’s perfect on her!!
Yippee for color is my motto lately!!

  • Queen of Rods

I think that what I love most about your blog is the use of color. I’m also a fan of yellow, but your Mom’s green duster is the perfect shade…and I love how the floral necklace that brings out the color detail in her coat. Excellent! Her green shoes are nothing to scoff at either. Your version of Nancy’s dress is much more attractive than the original VIP version. Go Jodie!

    • Jodie Filogomo

It’s true that I love color, Janet!! In fact, sometimes, I try to curtail the color because I hate to be too predictable—ha ha!! I just tried on a grey dress this afternoon, but decided it was too blah! Even though I know I could add in a colorful scarf or necklace!
Thanks for the vote of confidence—I can’t tell you how great it makes me feel to hear you say that!!

  • Coco Cami

These looks are all so stylish! Great post, thanks for sharing 🙂

    • Jodie Filogomo

      Thanks Camille!

  • Judy Gramith

Your happy yellow pencil skirt paired with the colorful, bell sleeved, striped blouse is the perfect Easter debut! Seems to me you have a hat or two that might top this off nicely.
Nancy’s new tunic is really fun and the length looks perfect. I don’t care for it with the pants and sweater. Just seems like too many horizontal lines and too much bulk. How about long boots and a cheerful ruana type scarf if the weather is cold?
Charlotte’s new sweater coat is really lovely and she does look great in that shade of green. I’m wondering if a long spring floral, light weight scarf would help bring out the flowers on her coat even more?

    • Jodie Filogomo

I was just talking about hats with a wonderful woman today, Jude!! I’m still not in the habit to wear them as much as I love them—so it’s good that you say this! I need to pull one out–especially for Easter!
I agree with you on Nancy’s tunic & sweater—maybe if the sweater were more asymmetrical? It’ll be interesting to play with it!
And mom certainly has a ton of scarves—I bet she has one that would work with this coat!
Happy Saturday, Jude and thanks for all your thoughts! 🙂

  • You’re always a bright spot in my inbox 🙂

I love all those sleeve details, too! Your Easter outfit is really pretty! I’ll have to check out the VIPme site. Your shoes, though….loooooove. Very on trend with the ankle strap but love that it’s not the sandal I’m seeing everywhere and is more of a pump. No open toes (which at Easter is a little risky for Buffalo weather).

I’m usually tempted to pick out something super springy…then we get blasted with an ice storm…or if I shop the closet and go with a dark something, we get a freakish 70 degree day… you are so SPOT on with this post! I’ll be sure to keep these tips in mind!

    • Jodie Filogomo

I only came up with this idea because that’s exactly what happens to me too Em!! And it’s so frustrating!!
I got these shoes at Macy’s last year! I mean, I do love my sandals, but when there is snow on the ground—it always seems silly to me!
We have a rule here in Denver, that you don’t plant your flowers until after Mother’s Day—because there is a huge chance it’ll snow–even on Mother’s Day!! Nothing like bipolar weather , I always say!!
Thanks for the uplifting comment…and have a fabulous weekend!!
