Knit Shirts for the 50’s, 60’s, & 70’s: The Smart Version

The task of taking these easy to style shirts from Fabrizio-Gianni, and making them appropriate for the workplace isn’t hard at all. Especially since the neckline on these shirts isn’t revealing, it is a modest and good looking shirt that can be worn in any environment. We wore these exact same knit shirts for a casual day here, and a dressier occasion here.
I don’t always think about where my clothing is made, but ever since meeting Ana, of Mrs. American Made blog, I have been more conscious of the fact, that there are some wonderful Made in the USA brands! Fabrizio-Gianni is definitely one of those brands. And even though the clothing is more expensive than what you can get at Target or Kohl’s, it is nice to splurge occasionally with the knowledge that you are benefiting US workers. Do you ever consider where the clothing company is located and where you clothing is made? I wouldn’t have even though of it before blogging!
Jodie’s (50’s) Outfit: Even though these trousers are made of a jean material, I think the cut and style really makes them look professional.
I love this vest because it’s so different (the designer is actually here in Denver!!). It’s still available on her website although I admit, I got it when Whorl Boutique was going out of business, so my cost was less. Looking at these pictures now, I can see that the necklace competes with the zipper detail of the vest. Maybe I should have left out the necklace or gone with a brooch instead?

Nancy’s (60’s) Outfit: You may not consider capris office appropriate, but of course, it depends on your situation. Since the fit on Nancy’s capris are not real tight, they aren’t much different than culottes, except for the material.
We did have Nancy add in her leopard cardigan, since most offices tend to have the A/C blaring in the hotter months, right?

Charlotte’s (70’s) Outfit: What mom loves about this sweater is that each button matches the color of stripe it’s on! And what I love about this ensemble, is that the cardigan doesn’t match the outfit, yet it goes together nicely. There isn’t any pink in the sweater, but since all of the stripes are a lighter version of colors, I think the pink works!
