Our Covered Perfectly Shirts Worn Casually

We were gifted these shirts from Covered Perfectly, but I was not paid for writing my posts. All of our feelings are honest and true!

Quote of the day: “Having just the vision’s no solution; everything depends on the execution.” Stephen Sondheim

For our last in the series of our Covered Perfectly shirts, I went with the normal, what every person wears on a casual day—blue jeans! We took these exact same shirts and styled them for a dressy look (here) and a smart look (here). I saved the casual version for last, since that seems to be the most obvious. Jeans and a t-shirt are such a popular combo in everyone’s closet! I did try to inject variety by adding a belt to my shirt, a bunch of necklaces to Nancy’s shirt and a scarf to mom’s shirt. Don’t forget the specials from Covered Perfectly for my readers are at the bottom of the post along with mom’s review of her shirt (the other reviews can be read in the other two posts).

50’s Outfit: I had to add every color of the rainbow to my look. Part of me says why limit yourself to one or two colors? The other part says, it’s a little mish mashed!

Shirt: Covered Perfectly (here)~~Jeans: Express–thrifted (similar here)~~Belt: (similar here)~~Shoes: Forever (similar here)~~Necklace: (similar here)~~Earrings: (similar here)~~Bracelet: (here)~~Hat: (similar here)

60’s Outfit: To me, accessories can make the outfit shine, so we layered 3 of Nancy’s tassel necklaces together! That and the print shoes make it feel less blah in my opinion!

Shirt: Covered Perfectly (here)~~Jeans: Gloria Vanderbilt (similar here)~~Shoes: Sam & Libby (similar here)~~Necklace: (similar here)~~Earrings: (similar here)

70’s Outfit: Mom donned her arm warmers (with a DIY for your own pair in this post) to add a little warmth! Remember, this post was originally meant to go live in March—thus it was slightly chilly!

Shirt: c/o Covered Perfectly (here in the print and solid colored ones can be found here)~~Jeans: Bill Blass(similar here)~~Tank Under: (similar here)~~Boots: Nine West (similar here in brown or black)~~Arm Warmers: (similar here)~~Scarf: (similar here)~~Earrings: (very similar here)

The 70’s thoughts on her “Mandy” shirt: Mom is the only one of us who didn’t have her shirt shortened—she’s 5’4″. Like I stated in the first post, it is a deep “v” in the front, so a tank top or cami was important to her for modesty. I think the vertical lines of the print are great!

Doesn’t everyone love a deal? So right now at Covered Perfectly you can buy 2 and get one free OR get 20% off with the code JF20…only one discount per order…(they could be fantastic gifts–it’s never too early to think about Christmas, you know–ha ha)!

Since we all should have jeans in our closets, have you thought about getting some different styles of them? Like I said in “My Style” post (here)–it’s good to try something different!! There’s a print version, a colored version, a flared version & two different washes of jeans to think about!

  • The Style Crone

The three of you are “Covered Perfectly.” The shirts are gorgeous! Love your pink fedora and thank you for sharing it and your beauty with Hat Attack!

    • Jodie Filogomo

Thanks Judith!! Thanks to you and your blog, I’m really enjoying wearing my hats more!!

  • I think it must be Fedora month! I wore one for the Hat Attack too. Like the tops, and yours looks pretty doable for me-just can’t do those off the shoulder things-Got to have a strapped bra and looks like. You could with that one.

    • Jodie Filogomo

That’s exactly why I love these shirts Terri!! Even my mom loves hers (I bought her one since I’ll be doing a post series on them!!)! I think they are perfect for our ages!!
And don’t you think the Fedora’s are a great shape? This pink one is mine (duh), but I borrow Rob’s white one all the time!!

I’ve been looking at the cold shoulder tops and have tried a couple on. This looks really cute on you and I love the purple color. I’m still not sure how I feel about the look myself. Some things that are “trending” I buy, usually more having to do with colors and maybe accessories and then some things I think, “If I buy that now, next summer it won’t be a trend any more…” But the way you styled this top, especially in your “smart” look it would still be wearable even when it is no longer trendy. – Amy

    • Jodie Filogomo

I have to laugh at your thought Amy, because I was just pondering if I could somehow change the top once it’s out of style. I was thinking maybe i would cut off the sleeve portion and make it a tank top. Or I was thinking maybe patches would be back in style & I could add them to the openings??? Funny how we think the same way.
But I have to tell you, for now, I like this open shoulder so much, I’m on the hunt for another one in a different print or material!! (Even my mom loves hers—I bought her one, for the blog series I’ll be doing the end of June!)

      • Amy D. Christensen

I love that you are thinking ahead to when the style changes and how you can adjust your wardrobe by cutting something off or sewing something on. That is awesome! Since you love your’s so much, I may have to splurge on one this summer anyway.

        • Jodie Filogomo

I’m sure you can find one for not a lot Amy—I got both mom’s & Nancy’s from Romwe for under $10 each!! (Shein also has quite a few!!)

  • ADA

Oh Jodie I love that off-shoulder top. You all look so cheerful and bright in this post. I actually own a very similar hot pink fedora my daughter steals from me, all the time lol. I need to wear it soon!

Thanks for linking up and for your kind words, today! <3 Ada.

  • Debbie Stinedurf

Love, love, love your mom’s arm warmers…so cool! I also am loving how the layered tassel necklaces added so much color to Nancy’s look. My favorite top is the one you’re wearing. Purple and cold shoulder…two of my favorite things!

Aren’t Nancy’s necklaces so great!! I loved them when I saw them, so I bought her maybe 6 different colors! (a little excessive, but hey!)

  • PetiteOver40

What fun outfits, Jodie! As soon as I opened your page, I thought how glad I am we are friends because, if we weren’t, I’d want to be! These looks are charming and inviting and approachable!

Your comments always bring a smile to my face!
It’s funny because I think of these outfits as nothing special—but you’re right—that makes them approachable since everyone probably has a variation in their own closet.

  • Laura

Knit shirts are always a go-to with jeans! I love the colorful shoes you added with each outfit!

    • Jodie Filogomo

Thanks Laura—I am a shoe girl—so I love using them to add some spice to the outfit!
