Cold Weather Outerwear for the 50’s, 60’s & 70’s

Let’s talk outerwear since we live in Denver, Colorado and we have an occasional winter season!! These are the real overcoats– the heavier ones that you pull out when the arctic frost descends on the state. For the genuinely frigid days we all need a heavy duty winter coat, yet it can still be relatively good looking! I do generally get one size larger than normal so it’ll be roomy enough for any large sweaters or blazers underneath.
50’s Cold Weather Outerwear: This blanket coat is very large and roomy! My mother made it and quilted the inside with extra filling for additional warmth!
60’s Cold Weather Outerwear: Nancy has a faux sheepskin coat because they are indubitably warm! We added a blue scarf for a sprinkling of color since the coat and gloves are neutral.
70’s Cold Weather Outerwear: Of course my mother has a colorful jacket that she purchased in Santa Fe many years ago. At least, I can pick her out of a crowd in this overcoat. Since it is so bright, I’d make sure any gloves or scarf are neutral.
