The Color Yellow for the 50’s, 60’s & 70’s: Alongside the Neutrals Version
Quote of the day: “Limits are all in your head.” Kiesza
Ahhhh…the color yellow. It brings up visions of the sun, flowers and lemons. It is a happy color with energy! Yet many of us have very little of it in our closet. Just like with any color, there are many shades variations available. So you should be able to find one that looks good with your complexion. For this sequence of blogs, I’ll style a yellow skirt, shirt and sweater with other colors. Today it’ll be all about pairing yellow with neutrals!
50’s Outfit (skirt): This skirt was an impulse buy on the way to a dinner event. I ended up wearing it that evening and many more since! Who says impulse buys are bad?

60’s Outfit (shirt): Browns are a great neutral to pair with your yellow. The vest is a new purchase…I thought it might be a little long for Nancy, but I actually really like the length–it’s different from everything else she already owns.

70’s Outfit (sweater): Since many of us already have dark colored dresses, here’s a great way to incorporate some much needed color next to our faces! The dress is slightly too short for mom’s comfort so we added a skirt under it…it basically just looks like an extra stripe of black!
