Magnets in your Medicine Cabinet
This is a fabulous organizational idea from Pinterest (again—I mean, really, what did we do before pinterest?). You glue a couple pieces of magnets on the inside door of your medicine cabinet. It’s a great space saver for all your metal items that you need to store in your medicine cabinet. The metal items adhere to the magnet and thus, are out of your way! Of course you could also stand them up in a small container, but in my medicine cabinet…I need all the room I can get for my hair products, skin creams & lotions and teeth paraphernalia! (And actually I do have to store a couple of non metal things standing in a candle votive). So why not use the back of the door for extra storage?
This method is not much different than taking advantage of the space on the inside of the door of your kitchen cabinets (like I did here).
Now I could have painted the inside of the door a pretty design and removed the extra tape…but I’m just keeping it real for you (besides who sees the inside like this except you guys?).
The long strip magnet can be found at any hardware store (here’s one example). I had to use the extra tape on the ends because it just kept pulling away.
The short magnet is much stronger and thicker (here) thus it is important to plan where to place it before you glue it on (you don’t want to place it where the items stick out to far, hitting against the shelving and not allowing the door to close all the way). I ended up using superglue (my glue gun was not a successful tool for this project).
Easy & inexpensive…two of my favorite adjectives!
This week on the blog it will be an olive green theme!
