Bomber Jacket for the 50’s, 60’s, & 70’s: The Dressy Version
Quote of the day: “That’s the real secret to dressing well: It’s all about attitude…It’s about walking into a room, knowing that you look and feel good, and projecting that attitude out to everyone who sees you.” Betty Halbreich
This set of outfits could be considered a stretch for most of us. Or what I would call a miss. But we took the pictures, so I thought I’d share the struggle. Even though Nancy’s & mom’s jackets are shiny, I still don’t feel like it fits the dressy occasion. Thus I tried to style the jackets with dresses to up the formal factor. These looks are just not my favorites! You can see the same jackets styled for a trip to an appointment (here) and an errand day (here).
50’s Bomber Jacket: I actually zipped up the jacket behind me to make it more like a shawl. Still, it looks strange to me.
60’s Bomber Jacket: I love this maxi for Nancy, but to me the jacket doesn’t fit the bill. We tried to tuck the collar under, but I think a sweater would have been better.
70’s Bomber Jacket: This necklace is magnetic at the silver junctures…thus you can make it different lengths or even use it as a bracelet.
Thanks reading along while we have fun dressing up!!
