Brooches for the 50’s, 60’s, & 70’s: On your Top
Quote of the day: “Many of our fears are paper-thin, and a single courageous step would carry us clear through them.” Brendan Francis Behan
I was happy to read that brooches were making a comeback this year. For some reason I seem to have an abundance of these in my repertoire, yet I’ve hardly worn them in ages. For such a small piece of jewelry, they are quite versatile and appropriate for almost any occasion. I decided to see if the three of us could wear ours from head to toe (figuratively, of course). This post is all about wearing them on the top half of your body. I tried to mix it up by having them pinned on different items: a jacket, a cardigan, and a tunic!
Jodie’s (50’s) Outfit: I picked this pin because I thought it added some nice sparkle & color to an otherwise solid jacket.

Nancy’s (60’s) Outfit: Nancy’s cardigan has a good amount of pattern, so we went with a simple pin.

Charlotte’s (70’s) Outfit: Since mom is a fabulous seamstress, it’s no wonder she has a brooch made of buttons! I thought I’d try to add sparkle by incorporating another pin, but we probably didn’t need it!

You may have plenty of brooches in your collection, but if not there are some wonderful ones for very little money
