Quote of the day: “Education is knowing where to go to find out what you need to know; and its knowing how to use the information you get.” William Feather

Thank you to MaryAnne, a wonderful reader, for the suggestion of creating a brown series and incorporating into it the navy and brown combination!! I’ve always been a lover of the color brown. Especially at work when I was dressing more “seriously”, I tended to lean towards the browns instead of blacks since my coloring is quite pale. Since brown is a neutral–you can trust that all colors will look good with it! For our brown items in this series I tried to be very diverse with the items chosen to try to give you many ideas for your closet. Mom was happy that she was chosen to wear a skirt, Nancy got appointed her puffy vest, and I chose a silk blouse.

50’s Brown (Blouse): I wanted to lighten up the combination by adding the gold turtleneck. I also wore my lace extender which will have it’s own series in a couple weeks!

60’s Brown (Vest): Nancy’s dress is a great “V” patterned stripe–the addition of the turtleneck makes it possible for her to venture outside when the weather is cold!

70’s Brown (Skirt): Mom’s favorite color is blue, thus finding options for this combination was easy peasy! Her navy sweater maybe lighter in color than the usual navy, but close enough, right?
