Brutal Honesty About Covered Perfectly Tops

I had a reader ask my true opinion about the Covered Perfectly shirts recently. And I can understand that when you see items showcased on a blogger’s site, you may not be sure how well they would work for you or if the blogger is saying nice things just because the company gave them the clothing. So let me give you brutal honesty about everything I know about our shirts! One of the things I like about this company is they are constantly updating their products and trying to keep us older women looking fantastic. Therefore they sent us 3 more products to try out and style for you to check out!  And then Cathy, from My Side of 50 just recently styled this one!

Fabric

First let me start with the fabric that Covered Perfectly uses for most of their pieces. The material is called MicroModal and it’s used primarily, because it’s super-soft, and breathable, which is important when we are having power surges. I like it because it doesn’t wrinkle so it’s not a clothing item I need to iron; you just hang it to dry. Honestly, it’s really what most of us would consider a t-shirt material with a little sheen. So is it extra special? Maybe not, but it’s what most of us like and are used to for shirts!

Size

Secondly, I’ll tell you that these shirts are sized pretty generously. Therefore if you’re petite like the 3 of us, then you might feel overwhelmed in many of the shirts. Truly, that’s why I ordered this particular shirt for Nancy, below, because of the banding at the bottom. I figured she would be able to put the band up higher on the trunk of her body instead of it covering her crotch. Truthfully, for my body, I wish they had an XS size available. However, I realize not everyone is petite, and the best thing about a shirt that’s too long, is that it can be altered  and made shorter.

Commission

And thirdly, they do give commission to us bloggers, if you purchase from one of our links. Is that bad? Truthfully, it’s not something I could make a living off of but, it can certainly help with all of the time it takes to take photos, upload the pictures, write the post, link all of the items all while trying to be entertaining and truthful!! However, if a reader returns a product, then you are also docked that amount.

How was that for brutal honesty? If you are interested in ever purchasing one of their shirts, let me tell you that this is the time to do it. Covered Perfectly is celebrating their 4th year in business and are offering some discounts on certain shirts. Check the bottom of the post for which ones and the code to use!!

Jodie’s (50’s) Outfit: When I received this cardigan, I knew I’d pair it with my white jeans!!

Since spring is in the air, I figured the white would lighten the outfit nicely, and I tend to reach for my white jeans more than any other in my closet!!

Since I was dealing with a bad hair day, I threw on this hat. The history of this hat is that used to be my mother’s!! Usually I would have worn sandals, but the weather wasn’t quite that warm. Therefore, I grabbed my peep toe booties since I thought they’d match the color of the hat!

Dressing Stylish for Women over 50

I added in a scarf because I wanted to add in a little more color to this neutral palette!! So I grabbed this skinny scarf that my mom had made for me many years ago! I even showed 3 different ways to style this kind of scarf last week on the blog!!

Style for Older Women

Sometimes I crack myself up trying to figure out different ways to wear an item!! I’m showing you 2 more ways to style this jacket in the video below!

Nancy’s (60’s) Outfit: Nancy was originally going to pair this shirt with her mint green jeans!

But our friend who was over at the time, thought the shirt looked too dressy with those jeans! So Nancy changed to her white jeans! For some reason, white jeans can look a tad dressier we decided. Besides the white pops the color of the blue shirt so nicely!

This shirt boasts  bell sleeves to add interest to it!

I’m not sure if you know this or not, but sleeves are all the rage right now on the fashion scene. If your sleeves have ruffles, or some kind of detail, then you are in the know!! That’s the other reason I picked this shirt for Nancy. I know she doesn’t have any shirts with fun sleeves, so I thought it’d be a great variation for her wardrobe!

Over 60 Fashion

You can see how the sleeve length is just below the elbow, which is part of the idea of being perfectly covered.

All of the shirts that Covered Perfectly sells have 3/4 length long sleeves except for a couple of long sleeved shirts and their tanks & vests. But if you look through their collection, that’s the style you’ll notice the most!

If you like having your upper arms covered then this is right up your alley! If you happen to like shorter sleeves on your tops, then this could be a deal breaker for you!

Charlotte’s (70’s) Outfit: I thought my mom might appreciate this shirt because it’s more style forward.

The cutouts up the length of the arm look great on any aged woman! My mom isn’t the hugest fan of the open shoulder shirts, but she actually liked these cut outs on this shirt. The openings give the shirt some ventilation without exposing your entire arm!

Just like with any of the Covered Perfectly shirts, they are made a tad longer than you find at the stores.

My mom is the tallest of us three at 5’4″, so this shirt fits her like a tunic would fit. I ordered my mom her normal size and it fits great in the chest and arms!

Since it has a nice flare to the bottom of it, we styled it with a pair of gold leggings. Either leggings or any skinnier jean would look good with this shirt!

Here is a close up of the cut outs on the arm.

They have a cute twist between each of the openings and it’s a 3/4 length sleeve just like Nancy’s!

We wanted to keep the focal point on the shirt, but we had to add in a floral scarf! These shirts are a perfect blank canvas for any scarf or fun necklace in your closet!
