Capes/Ponchos for the 50’s, 60’s, & 70’s: The Casual Version
Quote of the day: “Art is unquestionably one of the purest and highest elements in human happiness. It trains the mind through the eye, and the eye through the mind. As the sun colors flowers, so does art color life.” John Lubbock, Sr.
Now here’s an item that can be great for the colder weather months, yet pretty darn versatile. The capes/ponchos can be worn more like a sweater, a wrap or even a jacket depending on what you wear it with and how you wear it. All of our pieces are more like cardigans in these posts; however, there are many that are designed for over your head also.
50’s Capes/Ponchos: I took out the label on my poncho, and now can wear it with either side out….either dark brown or tan.

60’s Capes/Ponchos: Nancy’s poncho has sleeves which means it will stay on her shoulders much better than mine!

70’s Capes/Ponchos: Mom’s cape is quite heavy so we’ve styled it as a coat in all the posts. However, we changed out the belt to make it different.
