Casual Legging Outfits for Over 50 Ladies
On the theme of legging outfits for over 50 women, Lesley is showing a casual, run of the day look.
Quote of the day: “The ultimate lesson all of us have to learn is unconditional love, which includes not only others but ourselves as well.” Elisabeth Kubler-Ross
This idea is part of the collaboration with Go2. I’ve included all the details about what that means as we are showcasing their new compression leggings. I styled them as part of my fitness outfit along with my pros and cons about them. Charlotte wore her pair as part of a dressy look. And you can get a 25% off discount when you use the code JODIE25 site wide.
Leggings have been shown on every age woman for years now. In fact, I posted about this 5 years ago and I didn’t even have a tunic length top at that time. Since I had just retired, they weren’t what I considered a professional look. Yet I think leggings are perfect for women in our midlife years.
Casual Leggings Outfits for Over 50 Ladies
Leggings are one of those items of clothing that can certainly be versatile. Sure, maybe not for the office (unless you’re wearing them under a dress), but I could see them from workout to date night and everything in between.
Especially like Lesley is showing this day. We were out in Phoenix for a walking tour of the city. And she has on the best kind of walk around outfit.
Insider tip: We all know that layering is wonderful. So make sure to think about the under layer being long enough for the leggings too, just in case you need to remove the cardigan.
What Adds Sass to Leggings the Long Cardigan?
Most of us realize that accessories can make an outfit more than just pieces worn together. In fact, we talked about that recently with our red sweater/black pants posts.
So even for a more casual day with Lesley’s legging outfit for over 50 females, I think it’s nice to add in these kinds of details.
Lesley added in a long black necklace and even a red backpack. For a day of touring around, I love the idea of a small backpack especially since many of you still aren’t convinced to try a belt bag. Yet the backpacks are just as functional and good for our posture along with being stylish.
Insider tip: Adding your purse in a totally different color is a great way to make the outfit seem more modern. Gone are the days that your purse has to match your footwear.
Lesley’s Thoughts on these Go2 Compression Leggings
Lesley had many positive things to say about these Go2 Compression leggings. She thought they were extremely comfortable and that they held her in (so she didn’t get that jiggle factor). Because of their name, she had thought they would be much tighter, yet happily surprised that they were easy to get on.
The other detail that she loved were the pockets. Just like I showed in my Go2 leggings post, the pockets are large. In fact, Lesley called them “cargo pockets” and thought they were perfect for carrying all the necessities especially when she walks her dogs.
Her only criticism was the crotch seemed a bit short. If there had been a larger size up, she would have tried those.
Lesley’s History with Legging Outfits for over 50 Females
From Lesley’s own mouth, she said that “leggings are my go to comfort clothes.” I do think many of us feel that same way. Especially when the material is soft and stretchy.
In fact, Lesley has worn leggings for numerous years instead of sweats. In that time her silhouette has changed many times, yet she still enjoys wearing them. She usually styles them with a tunic length top, (either a shirt or a sweater) or even a short dress worn as a tunic. Which reminds me of one of my ideas to stay modest when you wear your “too short” skirt from a couple of weeks ago.
As for colors, Lesley says she has 6 different colors and of course, several basic black ones. In fact, she wore her grey jegging pair in a recent post.
Insider tip: Jeggings are denim looking or jean material leggings. The difference? Leggings will be elastic or have a pull on waist instead of a button and zipper.
Insider tip 2: Your leggings do NOT have to be skin tight. Having a little leeway in the leggings make them seem more like “real” clothes instead of workout gear.
Funny Story: Lesley has even worn leggings as pajama bottoms on a camping trip years ago. See? So much versatility with them.

This isn’t the first time working with Go2. We worked together to showcase their fun compression socks last year. In fact, that post was one of the most popular posts of 2019. And now I’m a huge fan of their compression socks. Even my husband has multiple pairs that we wear when traveling by plane and even around the house.
