Colorado Women’s History and a Mother’s Day Giveaway
Quote of the day: “If at first you don’t succeed, call Mom!” Anonymous
Mother’s are definitely hard working creatures. And should be celebrated every day. Yet it’s nice to set aside a day to put them in the spotlight too. Even better would be winning one of the three gift cards available below.
Most of this week was concentrating on outfits for a Mother’s Day celebration. Therefore, I thought it would be appropriate to learn about Colorado’s Women’s History at the Byers-Evans House and have tea afterwards.
And if you didn’t believe me before, we really did have snow when we went out for our adventure as seen below. Yet, when we came out of our tour and tea event, the weather had turned nice as you can see above.
Our Mother’s Day Outfits
At this time of year, the weather dictates our outfits almost more than anything else. And since our morning was full of cold and snow, the three of us bundled up.
If you’re missing Nancy, it’s only because she was basking in the Hawaiian sunshine. Let’s just say we were rightly jealous.
My mom layered a maxi dress with a long cardigan as an option for the celebration. Stacy wore a pastel suit that doesn’t get as much love since she’s retired. And I wore two tunics/dresses together with my boots.
Colorado’s Women’s History
The Byers-Evans house is a historic museum in Denver. It’s one of those places that you can drive by many times and not even realize it’s significance.
But during the tour we learned so much about the family that lived in this house for over 100 years. Over 90% of the things in the house were original, including that opera shawl on the bed below.
And then we even had tea with scones, sandwiches and tea made just for the museum. Let’s just say that was Rob’s favorite part!
Mom, Nancy and I were honored to be interviewed on Quintessential Style. I hope you click over to read the fun questions.
For example, if you could only own ONE makeup items, what would it be?? I’d love to hear your answer too!!
