Crew Neck Sweaters for the 50’s, 60’s & 70’s
Quote of the day: “I think you always need to try your best, but at the same time you can only do what you can do. Don’t beat yourself up about it.” Heidi Klum
I bet that at this age, we all have at least one crew neck sweater in the closet. There are many variations including v-neck sweaters, but today I’ll show a fabulous modern look with this sweater type by layering it with a blouse & then adding a necklace. Make sure your blouse is relatively fitted so it doesn’t add too much bulk. If you happen to have a blouse that is too small and you’ve been meaning to throw it out…here’s one way to put it to use–hide it under the sweater.
50’s Crew Neck Sweater: I love this denim shirt because it’s a dark denim and really goes with everything. Since this sweater is pretty thin, I could see the outline of the breast pockets through it and so I just used my jacket to cover it. For the younger crowd, let the blouse tails hang out!
Crew Neck Sweater: Valerie Stevens Cashmere (similar here)~~Denim shirt: Boden (similar here)~~Skirt: Loft (similar here)~~Jacket: Sao Paulo (similar here)~~Shoes: Bandolino (similar here)~~Necklace & Earrings: BaubleBar (here & similar here)
60’s Crew Neck Sweater: I found a picture of a set up like this on pinterest after we had just bought this blouse & statement necklace for Nancy…I love it when a plan comes together!! This sweater is actually higher than most normal crew necks but still works wonderfully.
70’s Crew Neck Sweater: Mom never throws anything out so finding a crew neck sweater was easy! This outfit is really no different than Nancy’s, but mom didn’t have a statement necklace; however, any short or mid length necklace will work. If you get too hot, you can easily use a short sleeve blouse!
