Daily Looks: Week Ending 10.13.23

I appreciate each and every share. Thank you!

Even though it’s October here in Phoenix, the temperatures are still warm and dry. I’m trying to wear my closed toe shoes now and items that didn’t work for our very hot days. Plus I’m including 2 days from our vacation for my daily looks.

I think you would enjoy it if you signed up for the emails below. Besides the free eBook, my email family gets personal tidbits of what’s going on in my life along with other happenings, sales, information, giveaways, extra photos, and interesting articles.

Saturday

Pants: Just Be Youtiful~~T-shirt: LOFT~~Sandals: Target

This was our day at sea, so I wanted to keep it casual. In fact, I wished I had brought along more t-shirts and maybe a pair of leggings. However, these crinkle pants from Just Be Youtiful worked great for the day. Even for my foray into zip lining.

The morning was chilly, so I’m glad I had this long-sleeve t-shirt. Not chilly enough to wear close toed shoes, haha. But if you saw my email where I shared my zip-lining action photo, you might have noticed that I had put on my sneakers (it was a requirement).

I had my lanyard around my chest that way so it wasn’t in my way. For most of the cruise I wore my sling bag which worked fabulously, but I didn’t need it for our day on the ship.

Sunday

Skirt: The Bias Cut c/o~~Blazer: GibsonLook-won in a giveaway ~~Boots: Target

You can tell that it was dark when we took this photo. We were getting ready to debark and this is my airplane outfit. I basically wear the same thing to our destination and then back home. It saves a lot of decisions that way.

Instead of a dress this time, I wore a skirt. One reason is that the flight was so long, so I knew my top would be smelly after the first trip. So I just switched out the top, and everything else was the same.

I’m always SO surprised that more women don’t wear skirts or dresses on planes. The bathroom convenience is truly everything as well and the right skirt can be way more comfy. I discovered this accidentally and then even wrote a post about it.

The blazer was one of my giveaway wins from Gibsonlook and it was a great option because it’s a knit blazer. Being knit means it moves and stretches and doesn’t wrinkle too badly.

I’m really glad I ended up bringing the white cowboy boots. They are easy to get on and off at the airport and they kept my feet warm. Plus they were cute with other outfits on my trip.

Monday

Jeans: Banana Republic~~Top: Desigual~~Sneakers: Adidas-Goodwill

At the airport in Barcelona, they had a Desigual store. Both Rob and I fell in love with the Desigual brand about 12 years ago when we found it in a boutique in Seattle. Of course, that’s when we were working and bought things that weren’t on sale.

But I wanted to look around and was pleasantly surprised that most items I loved were under $100. The only thing I ended up getting was this kid’s shirt (I’m wearing size 13/14) that was even more reasonably priced. I’m a sucker for hearts and it’s nice that the sleeves are the right length.

Since it was a stay-at-home day, I paired it with jeans. These are a light-washed cropped pair that I’ve worn last spring when we talked about different washes of denim.

I went with my thrifted leather Adidas sneakers just for something different (white sneakers go with everything as I’ve showcased in the past).

And then I added colorful items with my beret, earrings, and glasses.

Tuesday

Shorts: no label-Goodwill ~~Top: no label- thrifted~~Shoes: New Bella-won in giveaway

This is the perfect time to wear my leather shorts because it’s cooling down but still warm enough for bare legs. These are the shorts that Suazann found for me when we talked about thrifting as a stylist for each other.

I wore it with this thrifted top I took on vacation but didn’t end up wearing. Even though there is no green in the shirt, I think it melds nicely with the shorts.

Then I wore my patent loafers with it. At first, I didn’t put on socks, but my feet started hurting and getting sweaty so I put on my Sheec socks. It cracks me up because before I found Sheec socks, I would be sockless in most of my shoes, and it felt normal. Now I don’t like the feeling as much (unless they are sandals, of course).

Wednesday

Pants: Banana Republic~~Top: Banana Republic~~Shoes: MPS

I remember when I first bought these pants in 2019 and almost thought they were “too much”. I wore them with very few accessories the first time because I wondered if they were too bold. Yet after I wore them a couple of times, they just seemed normal. In fact, I then put together an article of different ways to wear them.

This top was another that got packed for our cruise yet I didn’t wear it. BTW, I’ve worn it back in 2017 with capris.

Insider tip: Many women complain that these bell sleeves get in the way. That’s why I shortened them when I bought the top.

I’m print mixing with the shoes and earrings, but it’s what I would consider subtle. These shoes? I’ve had them from my working days over 10 years ago.

Friday

Dress: thrifted~~Jacket: Pol-Just Be Youtiful~~Shoes: Vince Camuto

It’s definitely feeling like fall in the mornings, so it was the perfect time to wear this amazing tweed jacket I just found at Just Be Youtiful. For under $50, it can reside in your closet too. Just reach out to her on her FB page, and use my discount code, JTOUCH15.

I layered the jacket over a linen dress so I can easily take it off when it gets warmer today.

How do you like the print mixing? I chose leopard flats and a polka dot scarf. In reality, I wouldn’t have worn the scarf except my hair thought it looked better going in all different directions!!

You could easily say that the proportions of the jacket and dress aren’t ideal. Or that the ankle straps don’t elongate my legs. But I say HOGWASH to that. I think it’s more important to have fun with the outfits I put together than trying to look taller, slimmer, or perfect (which I’ll never be, so why stress over it?).

BTW, in the close-up photo at the top, you can see the new gold ear cuff I just purchased. I think earcuffs are the coolest things lately. And I layered 2 rings together. I also used 2 bobby pins to hold the scarf in place.

Thank you
