This past week has been ideal spring weather, and I have been trying to take advantage of it. For me, that means bare legs, yet still wearing my boots and sweaters.
I think you would enjoy it if you signed up for the emails below. Besides the free eBook, my email family gets personal tidbits of what’s going on in my life along with other happenings, sales, information, giveaways, extra photos, and interesting articles.
Saturday
I know I wore this skirt last week for our Valentine’s breakfast, but I figured I might as well wear it again to a Galentine’s Party today.
This orange and pink heart sweater is lightweight and tucks nicely into the skirt.
Then I finished off the look with pink boots and my “LOVE” earrings. I wear these earrings all year long, and they are super lightweight and inexpensive on Amazon (plus there are other heart/love options that are smaller or in different colors).
Sunday
You’ll see this outfit again in my review of these sneakers from Orthofeet. I’ve been super duper impressed with them and wanted to show how they could work for a casual look.
I wore them with a thrifted pair of bootleg jeans, which you can see are low-waisted. I don’t mind that detail, yet if you are thinking about proportions in an outfit, then having a sneaker that matches the pants can help create a 2/3 ratio for the bottom half.
This confetti sweater can be worn with this wrap in the front or back. I layered it over a t-shirt since it was chilly in the morning, and when the day heats up, it will be easy to remove the sweater.
One of my neighbors gave me a bunch of belts, and this is one of them. Sure, it’s not a trendy belt, but I love that it’s colorful.
Monday
We have a massage today, so I try to wear things that are relatively easy to take off and won’t get ruined by the massage oil. In fact, on these days, I wear my traditional bras (instead of my Ruby Ribbon or Shapeez ones (more info about them here).
This dress is a body con dress and trust me, I never thought I would wear one. Here’s what it looks like without a layer. Occasionally I wear it alone, but it’s wonderful to layer over it because it’s not too bulky.
The sweater is one I hand-knit over 15 years ago.
Since I just bought these boots, I figured I should wear them more before it gets too hot. And then I added a hat because my hair is always a mess after a massage.
Tuesday
I ordered these burgundy faux leather shorts from eShakti in December but they had a backlog problem and I didn’t get them until just this week. I bought them because I had a $25 gift card to use. And because of the backlog problem, they gave me another $25 gift card.
Insider discount: With my link, first-time buyers at eShakti can get $50 off. That means most dresses would only be about $25 even if you get custom sizing (which is ideal). I wrote more about the company and I think it’s an amazing deal rather than buying something and having it altered.
The sweater was a fun purchase for my group of gals from Instagram who would sometimes buy the same piece at Target and style it differently. I wasn’t sure I’d like the ruffle, but it works wonderfully.
I usually try to wear a T-shirt under most sweaters so I don’t have to wash the sweater as often. You can see a bit of it sticking out by the shoulder, but I also used my Maggie’s magnets to try to keep the t-shirt from showing.
One of my favorite combinations is taller boots with shorts or short skirts in the winter. Today I didn’t even need tights to keep warm.
Wednesday
I knew I needed to wear these metallic jeans when I linked to a pair that was on sale at Loft in my email this week. Metallic is not only trending but it’s VERY functional if you have pets. Pet fur doesn’t stick to it at all.
I realize that this pair is very bold. But I get the most compliments on them every time I wear them.
I was going to pair them with a sweater, but it was warm enough to stick with the brown, silk shirt.
Besides, I was able to pull out my button covers that I’m seeing all over IG and TT. Who else remembers button covers from the 80s?
Luckily I saved a couple of mine from those days and am so happy they are back in style.
Insider shopping: Want some of your own button covers? There are many on Amazon or I know Just Be Youtiful had some at her shop. Just reach out to her on FB and ask if they are still available. Jtouch15 gives you 15% off at her boutique.
Thursday
You’ll see this outfit on the blog in March. It was a fun one!
Friday
I was helping out with a fashion show at my favorite local boutique, Just Be Youtiful. When I do that, I like to showcase how many of the items she sells and can be worn in a variety of ways. That’s why I wore this white dress (photo of the full white dress in this article).
Tulle skirts can be such a whimsical clothing item. In my professional days, I would never have considered wearing one. Yet now that I realize life should be joyous and style should be fun, I have many different tulle skirts.
Insider shopping: Just Be Youtiful usually has a couple of these skirts for a great deal, so reach out to her on her FB page if you’re interested. I bought this one at her store. Use code Jtouch15 for a discount.
I paired the outfit with floral sneakers and multicolored jewelry. The jewelry by Erin McDermott, I won in an Instagram giveaway.
