Daily Looks: Week Ending 3.29.24

I appreciate each and every share. Thank you!

A friend asked me how I decide to get dressed every morning, and the two biggest factors are the weather and what we are doing. This week was a typical spring week in that the weather was all over the place. So my morning outfits were more layered than my afternoon outfits.

But overall, I tried for variety. That’s always my goal.

Variety with colors, variety with clothing items, and variety with how I pair things together.

I think you would enjoy it if you signed up for the emails below. Besides the free eBook, my email family gets personal tidbits of what’s going on in my life along with other happenings, sales, information, giveaways, extra photos, and interesting articles.

Sunday

Skirt: Le Lis-Your Revolving Closet~~Sweater: I knit it~~Boots: Style & Co-Macys

The cooler temperatures made it perfect for wearing this knit long skirt from Your Revolving Closet. You can see in their photos how she added a gold chain belt. I was going to copy that except that the waistband was too big, so I had to turn it over a few times.

That meant I wanted to cover the waistband, so I decided to wear this sweater I hand-knit from over 12 years ago.

However, the sweater was too long, and the outfit seemed frumpy. So I took a hairband and created a “knot” in the front. It was too bulky to tuck under the sweater, so I left it as is.

But I decorated it with a clip-on earring to make it look intentional. And then carried that same gold roundness in my earrings.

These burgundy boots don’t match at all, yet I think they go well with the look.

Monday

Skirt: Skylar Madison-Your Revolving Closet~~Shrug: Back From Bali~~Boots: Madden Girl-Macys

I was excited to wear this shrug I recently got from a company called Back From Bali.

This woman, Leslie, had visited Bali years back and was inspired by the fabrics and colors there, and came up with some wonderful designs that she sells on Amazon (at a great price). For example, this shrug, is similar to ones I’ve seen at boutiques yet it’s half the cost. AND it comes in a ton of colors and will be perfect for our summers to cover up when we go into shops and restaurants.
I hope you support the brand!!

Even though black and white is not a color I wear often, I was so intrigued with this print and style of top that I used my rewards to buy it when it was on sale. The brown version is still available in many sizes.

And the skimpy skirt is from Your Revolving Closet. I loved wearing these short skirts with tall boots while it was still cool outside.

Do you see the turquoise peeking out at the “v”? That’s my sports bra. I needed a little coverage, and since we are going to Pilates today, I figured I would wear a sports bra that coordinated.

I love these boots. Seriously. SO unique and fun.

Tuesday

Skirt: Masai “Salud“~~Top: Masai “Irekana“~~Shoes: Ann Taylor

The skirt and top are from the brand Masai. This brand draws inspiration from real women of diverse cultural backgrounds, age groups, and body types so there is something for everyone. For March, you can still get 40% off with the code March40.

I call this outfit a spring look for cooler weather. The sweater wrap gives warmth to the cooler morning, but by afternoon, I can peel it off.

The skirt is linen which is ideal for our hot summers. They may call it a midi skirt, but on my 5’2″ frame, it’s a maxi skirt.

I’ve worn the top a couple of months ago with a turquoise cardigan, and I really love the print and the tie at the waist to give it shape.

This wrap was from Just Be Youtiful’s website last year (use code JTOUCH15 for a discount on anything) and it’s one of those pieces you can configure in a bunch of ways. I used my Maggie’s magnets to keep the top portion attached to the sleeves.

And these ballet flats are from my working days. I’m glad I hung onto them because they are so cute with the tassel.

Wednesday

Dress: Masai “Norits“~~Cardigan: I knit it~~Sneakers: Cariuma

Another clothing item (the dress) from Masai. It is a brand inspired by women and made with quality materials. I like that they are size-inclusive with items from XS to XXL.
One super cool aspect of this brand is its clothing is focused on different shapes. For example, you can find oversized, a-shape, and straight depending on your body type.

This striped dress has 3/4 length sleeves but I still needed a topper for our cooler weather. This yellow striped cardigan I hand knit ages ago, and just recently added the trim because it seemed frumpy to me.

This is my third pair of Cariuma sneakers. If that doesn’t say something…
For my feet, I sized up a half-size so they aren’t as snug, and the eco-consciousness of the brand is incredible. Plus the canvas sneakers are less than $100 AND the cork insole is comfy (and can be changed out).

To pull in the pink from the sneakers and cardigan trim, I wore this pink beret and accessorized with a white multi-strand necklace.

Thursday

Joggers: Forever 21-thrifted~~Vest: Old Navy~~Sneakers: Orthofeet “Stroll

Tai Chi class today so it’s all about movement and comfort. I’ve worn these velvet joggers more than I thought I would when I purchased them over 6 years ago.

I paired them with this ruffle sleeve sweatshirt from my latest Your Revolving Closet box.
You can see all of the items I’ve worn from the company as well as what I have waiting to wear. The puffer vest was because it was chilly in the morning, although there could be too much volume on the top half with the ruffles and puffer.

But hey. Mistakes happen and you don’t know until you try.

There’s no mistake with these sneakers though. I’ve been SUPER DUPER impressed with this shoe line ever since writing about them. (I do think they need a more up-to-date name though). Anyways, the company has a couple of times a quarter where they have 35% off sales, so keep a lookout in my emails and I’ll give you guys notice about the sales.

I always love a scarf or necklace with an outfit like this, so I wore my small neck scarf.

Friday

Shorts: eShakti~~Sweater: Apt 9-thrifted~~Boots: Bleeker and Bond-DSW

It’s dog training day, and I wanted to wear these faux leather shorts before it gets too warm. The color was described as Oxblood, and in some lights, it looks burgundy. Today it seems brown.

My curly hair is because I accidentally let it dry naturally last night so it’s pulled back with a headband. Since I only have a couple of comfy headbands, it was the inspiration for the color of my top half.

Do you think lime green is hard to pair with other colors? I have proof that it’s not.

I wore my snakeskin booties and a statement necklace with it.

Thank you
