Daily Looks: Week Ending 6.2.23

I appreciate each and every share. Thank you!

We have had the best weather this week. Normally by now, we are hitting 100 degrees, but it’s been well below that. Granted, it’s still nice and warm, and my go-to outfits include dresses and skirts, but I’m still trying to add some variety to my looks.

I would love to invite you to sign up for the emails below. Besides the free eBook, my email family gets personal tidbits of what’s going on in my life along with other happenings, sales, information, giveaways, extra photos, and interesting articles.

Saturday

Skirt: BCBGMaxazria-thrifted ~~Top: Skies are Blue-Fashom~~Sandals: Dolcetta-Goodwill

Let’s talk colorful today, shall we? I recently “fixed” this blouse and wanted to wear it. Originally it was an open-shoulder shirt as seen in my Caribbean cruise excursion outfits. I still loved the print, so decided to sew the sleeve to the strap so it looks short-sleeved instead.

Then I wore this thrifted maxi skirt that I’ve worn as an option for an outdoor graduation outfit. Even when I bought it, the waistband was stretched out, but I hadn’t gotten around to altering it. So I used one of my Maggie’s Magnets to make it tighter as seen in this video.

The headband (from Target) is truly a comfy one. Even the ones from Amazon bug me after a couple of hours, but this one I can wear all day. It comes in a multitude of colors and the blue one was on sale, the last I looked.

I wore my nude wedge sandals since the skirt is so long.

Sunday

No outfit today because I stayed in my dog-walking outfit all day. It was deep cleaning the house (and dog) day.

Monday

Skirt: DIY from mini skirt~~Top: no label-Goodwill~~Sneakers: Cariuma

I wore red, white, and blue but in a way that may not make you think of a patriotic holiday. This is the final DIY, I think of modifying this skirt. If you get my emails, then you’ve seen the stages.

It started off as this mini denim skirt that I wanted to make into a midi skirt. So I bought a pair of jeans and added some jean material to it. The demarcation of the two types of denim looked strange, so I added some white lace trim. However, that seemed too much of a contrast. So my friend, Kris, suggested dying the white lace trim.
Since it was already sewn on, I painted it with fabric paint that I had from when I embellished this blazer.

I really like how it blends together now, and I’m so glad I asked for everyone’s suggestions and didn’t give up.

The crop top was an impulse buy when thrifting with a friend, and I love how colorful it is. I wore a strappy sports bra under it so any bra straps showing would look intentional.

And the white sneakers keep it casual and modern. These are my Cariumba sneakers that I learned about after seeing Helen Mirren wearing a pair.

Tuesday

Skirt: Max Studio-Goodwill~~Top: Tried & True-Goodwill ~~Sandals: Naot-won in giveaway

I finally pulled out this skirt that was a $2 find at Goodwill. It lightened up the leopard t-shirt perfectly. These skirts are so ideal for summer because they are lightweight and have a ton of stretch.

Funny story about this t-shirt. I didn’t pick it out, but it somehow ended up in my bag when I got home from Goodwill. I did get charged for it, but it must have been on the counter when I was checking out, and the cashier rang it up and put it in my bag. But hey, it’s cute, it fits, and I like it, so I didn’t return it.

My cousin left today (which is why my OOTD is outside) and she gave me this hat. It’s a Wallaroo hat with UPF and is very lightweight. I know I’ll be wearing it a ton.

I’m wearing my fabric bracelet from Target (right now on sale) again. I know I’ve worn all three of them lots but they are so ideal. They are big enough that I don’t have to layer them to be seen, plus the fabric seems cooler than some of the metal or plastic statement bracelets that I have.

The sandals are a pink strap in front with a silver one around the ankle. They are the brand, Naot, which has arch support and their insoles are made of cork and latex. They are definitely not inexpensive, which is why I’m glad I won them in a giveaway.

Wednesday

Pants: Skies are Blue-from Fashom~~Top: H&M-from thredUp~~Shoes: Via Spago-thrifted

I definitely don’t wear pants as much in the summer, but today we went to the chiropractor, so it’s just easier. I’d call this a creative color combination, and not one that I think I’ve paired before.

The pink with the olive green seems usual, but then I added in light blue accessories. (You can see it better in the up-close photo at the top). What do you think??

I’ve worn these pants before when I talked about the paper bag waist pants. The top is also old, as well as these peep toe shoes (featured when I showcased how versatile they are).

You’ve also seen this beautiful cross necklace before from Maison de Camille. They are back in stock (in multiple colors) and with my code, Jodie20, you get 20% off.

Insider tip: This necklace is long, so if you want to shorten it, this trick works amazingly. Think of it like a scarf.

BTW, Fashom clothing box is selling their boxes as mystery boxes now. You get 5 pieces for $50 with my link. It’s a great bargain and my suggestion is to be very specific in what you request and give your body measurements.

The top was purchased through an online thrifting site called thredUp. If you go through my link, you and I both get credit to use.

Thursday

Dress: ~~Cardigan: Zara~~Sandals: Marc Fisher-won in giveaway

We were taking Lesley out to a sushi restaurant for lunch and thus a great reason to dress up. I’ve had this dress for probably 15 years and sometimes I wear it backward (the zipper is on the side and it’s not as low cut in the back). You’ve seen me wear it many years ago and it was backward.

Today, to counteract the low front, I wore it with a lacy bralette. Bralettes are something you don’t need every day, but one of those things that can be a wonderful fix for many looks.

Insider tip: If you have a bralette that isn’t supportive, you can wear a bra under it.

To add lighter colors to the look, I wore my micro cardigan which has gotten a lot more wear than I thought it would. I don’t need the cardigan most of the day, but just in case the restaurant is chilly.

I also added these colorful clear sandals that I won in a giveaway and then added a scarf around my ponytail to coordinate the colors of the shoes.

Insider shop: I found a couple of great bralettes that would be great for you.

Friday

Dress: Francescas~~Vest: Banana Republic Factory ~~Sneakers: Cariuma

Someone wanted to be part of my OOTD photo, but she isn’t trained to look at the camera yet. Hmmm, we will have to work on that.

I’m wearing a dress from one of the young girl’s stores, Francesca’s, which you may not think is appropriate for older women. However, I’ve found some great items there, especially jewelry and knickknacks.

I’ve worn this dress years ago when Lesley was a fill-in blog model. Today, I wore it for a more casual look with my white sneakers, a vest, and a floppy hat.

The vest is part of a set that I’ll try to wear soon (my mom is taking in the waist on the shorts because I’m too lazy).

The vest was inspired by my friend, Kellyann, and is still available. I would say it runs TTS and it’s such a great option for the summer (it’s a linen-cotton blend and also comes in tan).

The sneakers are my Cariumba ones worn with my Sheec socks. We are walking down to the library (with Piper, of course) so I needed comfy shoes plus the shade from my thrifted hat.

BTW, this dress has a halter neck, so I’m wearing my Gatherall bra. Use code Gather10 for a possible discount (I’m not sure if the discount still works but it can’t hurt to try).
