Daily Looks: Week Ending 8.11.23

I appreciate each and every share. Thank you!

While I’ve seen women talking about fall fashion already, I’m here with real life outfits for our Arizona August weather.
Granted, most days are spent inside except for our dog walking in the mornings and evenings.

Saturday

Dress: Banana Republic-Goodwill ~~Jacket: from Just Be Youtiful~~ Loafers: Ros Hommerson “Winnie II”

We were attending my friend’s flute performance at the convention center, so I purposely wore a hat, something professional, and comfortable shoes.

One reason that a hat is helpful is that friends can find you easier (especially when you’re short like me). This is one of my favorite hats that I stole from my mother. I just love the color and shape of it.

The dress was found many years ago thrifting and is sleeveless. I’ve worn it with yellow back in Denver for breast cancer awareness month.

This jacket is from my favorite local boutique and is a great topper since it’s lightweight and has 3/4 length sleeves. It’s also easy to throw in a tote when I don’t need it.

These loafers have become a go-to already because their leather is so soft which makes them extremely comfortable. I do wear them with my Sheec socks (the 3.0 low cut version which is thinner than the active versions.)

BTW, these loafers are the new branding of Walking Cradles called Winnie II in winter white. I will be talking more about them at the end of the month. Code Jodie10 for a discount on your first purchase.

Sunday

Dress: no label-thrifted~~ Tank Top: from Just Be Youtiful~~Sneakers: Cariuma

Another floaty dress day and I even added a knitted tank top from Just Be Youtiful for something extra.

This slip dress was purchased this year from thrifting. I took it to Sedona this spring and forgot my strapless bra. So I ended up buying a strappy sports bra to wear with it, and I decided to go that route today too.

I also added this knitted tank top for a little more modesty and interest. It’s from Just Be Youtiful and she has a bunch of them in her store. If you’re interested (because it’s inexpensive and so cute), reach out on her FB page. She will ship within the US.

I went with white sneakers (these are Cariuma brand) because they are the iconic, trendy shoe for women of any age, as I showcased many ways to wear them earlier this year.

Since I put my hair in a ponytail, I also added a scarf around the elastic to drape down my back.

Monday

Shorts: Ethyl c/o ~~Top: Entro-WillowTree Boutique~~Sandals: Walking Cradles

I decided to take my own advice and made a pair of shorts from a pair of pants. These white pants are from a collaboration with Ethyl years ago. They were getting dingy at the hem with stains, yet still fit, so I shortened them to be Bermuda shorts.
If you like Ethyl products, my favorite local boutique, Just Be Youtiful, carries them and can send them to you.

I felt like the form-fitting shorts worked well with the kimono-type blouse. You saw this blouse from our trip to Puerto Rico under daytime outfits with pink shorts.
And the “cami” under it is my JulieMay bra which is all cotton and perfect for our hot weather.

FYI: If you need skin-friendly lingerie, then I wrote about this brand, and you can use code JULIEMAY for 10% off.

The sandals are Walking Cradles from years ago. They don’t have this exact style now, but they do have a lower version called “Cam” in 8 different colors.

And then I wore my favorite raffia earrings from Amazon which happen to be on sale for only $8.

Usually, I match my eyeglasses to the predominant color in my look, but today I decided to go with my dark teal glasses to pull out the green from the blouse. These glasses are from Glasses Shop, and you can save 35% with code Jodie35.

Tuesday

Skirt-H&M-Savers~~Top: J.Crew-Gild the Lily~~Sandals: Betsey Johnson

It’s a sparkle day because I’m attending a birthday party for a friend, Teresa, who is VERY into sparkles (see her IG page here). So I grabbed this sequin skirt, recently worn with eyelet and a sequin tank top.

I have to admit that this skirt has been a huge surprise. I wasn’t sure I would wear it for more than just the holidays, but it really works for many days. Heck, I even wore it as a top in this video game.

And for the sequin tank top, I had to alter the shoulder straps to shorten them, but now it fits great.

I wanted a fun shoe that also gave off the celebration vibe which is why I wore these Betsey Johnson sandals. They are not super comfy because the plastic doesn’t have any give, but for Teresa, they are worth it.

My shoulder-scraping earrings were a perfect choice (made by Judy). And my husband commented how my hair has been looking so good and getting so long. Crazy, right?

Wednesday

Pants: Gigio-Just Be Youtiful~~Top: Scala ~~Sandals: Italian Shoemakers

I recently purchased these pants at my favorite local boutique, Just Be Youtiful. They are a lightweight, silky material that is perfect for our hot weather. The best part is they have an elastic hem at the ankle so I didn’t need to shorten them.

Since they have more volume, I paired them with a tighter tank top in bright pink. I even wore my Gatherall strapless bra so I wouldn’t have any bra straps showing.

I carried the bright pink color to my sandals as well as my accessories.

Friday

Shorts: DIYed from thrifted jeans~~Top: THML from Fashom~~Sandals: Blowfish

I have to admit that I really love this length of shorts now. This pair I’ve even worn with cowboy boots in the past.

This embroidered top was one of my finds from my Fashom box 2 years ago. I’ve been surprised that I haven’t worn it more, because I love everything about it. It’s lightweight, the fringe is fun, and I’m a sucker for embroidery.

I put my hair in two ponytails (can you believe it’s long enough for that?) and added one of my husband’s caps.

The sandals are from 2 years ago and I love all of the details on them.

Thank you
