Delighted Aventura Clothing Review For Older Women

I appreciate each and every share. Thank you!

Sponsored by Aventura

I have to thank my friend, Carrie for introducing me to this Aventura brand. Even if you had heard of Aventura Clothing before, you might not have thought it was for older women since the models on their site aren’t in our age range.
That is why I wanted to give insight in this Aventura clothing review not only about the clothing and the company but for you to realize that they aren’t age restricted.

Quote of the day: “I have learned over the years that when one’s mind is made up, this diminishes fear: knowing what must be done does away with fear.” Rosa Parks

Both Carrie and I are showcasing different outfits from Aventura’s spring line. Make sure to head over to Carrie’s site to see her Aventura Clothing review.

What is Special About Aventura Clothing?

First, it may help to know their mission. In their words: Aventura Clothing is designed for women, by women. By making conscious choices to work with sustainable and low impact fabrics and partnering with Fair Trade Certified™ factories, it is our mission to create beautiful and comfortable women’s clothing. We are committed to providing women with socially and environmentally ethical clothing.”

If you’re like me, you may think we are doing our part to save the planet by recycling our waste, trying to reduce our carbon footprint among other things.
But clothing is a huge factor we don’t always take into account.

After I saw the movie The True Cost, and read the book, Fashionopolis, my eyes were opened to how irresponsible fashion has become.
Did it change my routines and buying habits? Somewhat.

I know any progress is slow, and I’m happy to say that I don’t purge my clothing willy nilly anymore and I do appreciate sustainable companies.

Living in Arizona with the extreme heat, women constantly talk about wearing natural materials. But even cotton clothing can be hard on the environment unless the company uses alternative methods.

This is why, after reading this Aventura Clothing review, you might consider checking them out.

Insider tip: Just because a company believes in sustainability doesn’t mean they are out of your budget. I consider Aventura well within older women’s budget as well as they have a sale tab.

Aventura Clothing Review

Even though I had seen Carrie talk about Aventura clothing before, I wasn’t sure it was for me. I usually lean towards more flashy and bold clothing. Yet I had no trouble finding an outfit that felt very me.

As I discuss below in the Jodie’s Touch section, there are always ways to take a simple outfit and give it sass.

Aventura Shoreline Crop Pants

First let’s start with these pants, because I chose them first.

Linen is a key ingredient for our hot summers in Arizona. Ha! But these aren’t real linen. (Trust me, I was fooled until I looked at the material just now).
They are just made to look like linen but they are stronger, silkier, and have more give.

I love the wide elastic waistband and…can we talk about pockets!?

Insider detail: These are a 25″ inseam so depending on your height, they could be ankle length like on me.

And they come in two colorways. This Cashmere Blue that I’m wearing and an Egret that is a more subtle stripe pattern.

Insider tip: There is the same material in both prints for a skirt if you’re interested.

Aventura Elsinore Top

I’m a sucker for embroidery on anything and everything which is why I was drawn to the top. You may think that summers in Arizona are too hot for long sleeve tops, but if you’re out in the sun, it’s better to be covered.

Insider tip: The heat affects you more when the sun is hitting your body. That’s why people who work out in the environment during our summers are covered from head to foot.

The most incredible thing about this top besides the embroidery and beautiful neckline is how soft it is. I didn’t realize it would be a knit material until I held it in my hands.

Basically, you are wearing a grown up t-shirt that has much more interest.
And it comes in 4 different colors.

Sizing

I would say that the sizing on my two items was true to their guide. I asked Carrie her recommendation and she stated she usually sized down with Aventura.

Both items I chose are available in sizes XS-XXL.

When I checked the sizing guide, my range was for XS for both the pants and the top. So I went ahead and ordered XS in both. They fit fabulously.

One of the reasons I chose the cropped pants is because I was hoping I wouldn’t have to shorten them. AND I didn’t. This length may show shorter on the model, but it’s ankle length on me.

Jodie’s Touch

I love it when my friends and readers tell me that they added some of “Jodie’s Touch” to their looks.

You don’t want to look like you stepped out of a store and looking like one of the mannequins. Instead, you should look like “you”.

That’s why I paired these striped sandals with my striped pants. Print mixing makes everything more fun.

On top of that, I added a bling pin at my waist. This is one of my favorite tricks. It gives you the interest of a belt without the heat from something wrapped around your waist.

A decorative thrifted straw bag was included as well as floral earrings and a multi strand delicate necklace.

There’s More

You’ll find other fabulous options for Aventura Clothing on Carrie’s blog and her thoughts on them.

And please make sure to check out the company’s website. You may not see older women modeling their clothing, but we can rock them just the same.
