Fall Shoes with Jambu

Dressing up our Fall Shoes with Jambu & Giveaway

Quote of the day: “Try not to become a person of success, but rather try to become a person of value.” Albert Einstein

Fall shoes may not be the first thing you think of when the weather starts to change. But I do think that Jambu shoes are impressive in their selection of comfortable booties or comfortable heels. Even though Jambu touts the comfortable part of their shoe line, there is certainly some great style to these shoes too. We were generously gifted these shoes to show to you, but you could win your own pair. Keep reading….

Considering that our fall shoes have to work with many of our outfits throughout the season, I thought I’d try to style them for both casual days and dressier times. And even though we wanted to glam up for this post, I had Nancy give an example of wearing pants as part of her outfit.

There’s also a giveaway and discount at the bottom of this post. And don’t forget to tell me your thoughts—I love to hear them!!

Jodie’s (50+) Outfit: Since I matched my Canary shoes to my outfit in the casual outfit, I wanted to change it up for this look.

So instead of trying to find a dress or top the same color as these shoes, I picked a dress that had the same sort of colors. I figured it was dark enough to support the heavier shoes, and I added the chambray shirt for coverage.

I know I talked all about the shoes in the last post, but let me tell you where I wore them for this day. We went office furniture shopping at American Furniture Warehouse. Now if you’ve ever been to that store, then you realize how much walking is involved in such an activity.

And considering this was the first time I had worn the shoes, I was a little nervous. But hours later, I was still a happy camper, along with the fact that we found 2 new desks and a furry ottoman. I’m sure you’ll get to see the entire office set up if you check back later this year. I plan to reveal it all at the Fall Bucket list update.

Fall shoes with Jambu with a dress

You may recognize this dress from a couple of other posts this year.

It’s a slip dress that used to be my best friend’s dress and was given to me when she passed away. I was cleaning out my closet when I found it this year, and was super close to giving it away, since I hadn’t worn it in 10 years. But then I decided I should try and style it since it was so pretty.

So my first attempt was with a tweed jacket, second with a sweater under it, and then I wore it with my denim jacket. I’d like to try it with a white blouse under it next. What do you think?

I will be the first to admit, that I wouldn’t go out and purchase a slip dress at this age. But if by chance you are more adventurous than me, and can think of some fun ways to style it like I have, then I’d say go for it. In fact, you could even consider it a beach cover up if you wanted to get real versatile. I found a couple of these dresses that might work for many of you here and here.

Since I was incorporating another color into the mix with the chambray shirt, I tried to add in some blue accessories like this necklace and my blue purse.

I wore this necklace with my denim and camo outfit earlier this summer. It was one of my first pieces from Rocksbox, but I wasn’t going to keep it, so I sent it back. Of course, once I did that, then I kept finding outfits that it would go with perfectly. So I requested it again, and this time I purchased it. At least it wasn’t an impulse buy. And you can get a month of Rocksbox free too with the code JTouchofstylexoxo.

Nancy’s (60+) Outfit: I know many women have expressed that they don’t wear skirts or dresses much anymore.

Therefore, we had Nancy dress up her fall shoes by wearing a jumpsuit. I would consider these Amal ankle booties somewhat dressy since they have such a lovely texture on the back of them.  And they are a heel, even though they aren’t a super high heel.

Fall shoes for Women over 60

Many times we still have to get dressed up and venture outside even if the weather isn’t optimal. Having these booties in your arsenal could be perfect, since the soles are incredibly heavy and slip proof. And did I mention comfortable? All of the fall shoes we were given from Jambu shoes have memory foam in the soles. And this memory sole is replaceable. Maybe you need these replacement soles for all of your shoes?

fall shoes with Jambu with a jumpsuit

Nancy is a huge fan of jumpsuits every since she was young.

I know many women complain about the bathroom aspect of these pieces of clothing. But considering there is a pro and con to everything, I think they can be dressed up so nicely. Nancy wore this jumpsuit to her high school reunion last summer and for our jumpsuit series.

If you agree with Nancy, that a jumpsuit is a easy way to dress up while still wearing pants, then I rounded up a couple that are under $50 for you to check out. I know most women appreciate anything in black, so I started with that color. But just in case you don’t mind being adventuresome, I also found a yellow one (and yes, you’d probably want to wear a cami under it) and a stone colored one (that comes in a couple of colors).

To add some glam and glitter to the look, we added in some gold accessories and then played with styling this wrap.

At first Nancy draped the scarf over her shoulders and let it hang down in front. But on the way back to the house, she threw one of the ends around her neck and over her shoulder. I actually like this version even better, because you can appreciate the keyhole opening in the back of the jumpsuit.

Charlotte’s (70+) Outfit: Now let’s discuss the OTK boots with these Kendra boots.

Any woman over the age of 40 would probably associate the over the knee boots with the movie Pretty Woman. But like I discussed in the Fall Trends post, the OTK boot reputation is starting to change. Just think of how much warmer these boots would be since they cover more of your leg.

Fall Shoes for Women over 70

One of the advantages of these taller boots, is you don’t have as much space between the hem of your dress and your boots. Of course, in my mom’s example here, you can still see some space between the two. And that’s because I had her choose a shorter dress so you could fully appreciate these boots. But with most of my mom’s skirts and dresses, there wouldn’t be any exposed leg.

Fall Shoes with Jambu OTK boots

Another point I’d love to make here, is the combination of navy and black.

My mom’s dress is really a navy sweater dress, and the boots are black. If you still consider it a faux pas to mix these two colors, then let me tell you a secret. It’s okay to combine them now. Since they are both neutrals, they work fine together. That and the fact, that most people have trouble telling them apart. So why shouldn’t they be together in an outfit?

Do you already have a sweater dress in your closet? I do think they are a great winter dress for most of us. I found a couple that are under $50 if you are interested. This version comes in petites and many colors, and this one is a fun stripes with a cowl neck. Just remember, you could also wear them as a tunic over your leggings.

Fall Shoes with dresses

For my mom’s accessories, we added in the red that is part of the fair isle portion of the sweater dress.

The necklace we doubled to make it a choker length so it would add some nice color to her face.

Red accessories are a super way to add in some color to any outfit. There are such a wide variety of red necklaces available that would look great with so many outfits. For example, if you love the tassel trend, then this is a fun design. Or if you prefer a shorter necklace that isn’t a choker then this stone necklace is very affordable.

  • Nicole Mölders

Thanks for linking up to Top of the World Style.

  • I’ve heard a lot about Jambu shoes lately – it’s good they are so comfortable! Have to say that those burgundy ankle boots are my favourite though – how perfectly they pair with the hem on the jumpsuit! 🙂

I’m still annoyed that being petite means I can’t easily pull off over the knee boots, as it’s definitely a trend with staying power and these ones look great with the knit dress!

Hope you are having a lovely week so far 🙂

    Away From The Blue Blog

    • Thanks so much Mica!
We are all petite too, so I’ve found that some OTK boots are not as overwhelming as others. It’s probably like anything—you just have to find the right ones!!
Thanks and have a wonderful weekend!!

  • Loving all of these fall shoes! I’m excited for the color burgundy to be back!

  • Look at that jumpsuit! Great job! I love the red choker as an accessory and as for your dress maybe try a sweater over it? I like changing a dress into a skirt so that might be fun to try!

  • Dawn Lucy

You all look wonderful in your boots! I love boots and sweater weather! Of course I have the exact same Canary shoes, and those Amal ones as well! Thanks for linking up with Fun Fashion Friday!

  • Ooh wow, I didn’t notice / see anything after that picture of you in your shoes Jodie. I love them. The colour, the style… everything! #teamlovinlife

PS. Agree with Cheryl though, Charlotte’s dress is gorgeous.

    • Thanks so much Deb!! They are a fun, almost edgy shoe!!

  • I like all three pairs, but yours are my favourite Jodie. I like the heel and strap detail. Love Nancy’s Jumpsuit! xx

  • I have to say, I really got on board with the over the knee boot trend – and I’ve come to feel like taller boots in general are just easier to style. Booties often seem to warrant cold ankles!

    • I totally feel the same way Lydia!!
Are we still on for a post collaboration (or 2) with the OTK boots?? I’m a planner, so I’m looking at the end of October or second week of November??

I really love your boots and their color, Jodie. I also love how you tied the chambray top over that darling dress. Nancy’s jumpsuit is SO cute, too! I love the color and the fit is great. Your mom is adorable, too in that sweater dress, those boots and I love that necklace on her!

    • Thanks so much Carrie!! You are always so kind to include all three of us in your wonderful thoughts and comments, and I can’t tell you how much my mom & Nancy appreciate that!

  • Amy D. Christensen

Jodie, I love your shoes and your outfit. I love the rich, dark color of the shoes and I also love how you styled that slip dress with the chambray top over it. Adorable! Nancy and Mom look amazing too. Great ideas for dressing up our fall/winter shoes! Hope all is well. – Amy

    • Thanks Amy!! It’s so fun to think about fall and winter items right now, just because of the variety!!

  • Rebecca Saffer

I am loving the Jambu shoes and will definitely explore this site. Wow – your mom has a terrific figure and this dress shows it off to perfection. I also love the boots Nancy is wearing with that cute jumpsuit. Again, 3 fun outfits – good job!

    Nice post!!

  • Prashant

This is so cute thanks for sharing with us this post.

  • Nicole Mölders

Your shoes and Nancy’s booties are calling my name. They both have a nice edge.

  • I’m in love with the print on your dress! I wish I could find a jumpsuit that would work for me, because I think they’re so chic. Everything I try ends up being too short! Your mom’s outfit is just stunning and the red choker is the perfect finishing touch!

    • Thanks so much Lana!!
Have you tried WHBM because they have tall sizes?? I’m sure that’s so frustrating for you. I know many women complain about items being too long, but at least you can shorten them with that problem. I used to have a patient that would add extra material at the bottom of her pants to make them long enough. I always thought that was so smart.

  • Loving all these looks! Gorgeous ladies.

    xx, Maryam

  • Judy Gramith

My favorite look this time is Nancy’s. The column of color created by the jumpsuit and seamlessly matching boots is so classy. I agree that depending on accessories this could be a dressy look! It’s actually looking dressy here because of the pretty jewelry and is there some lurex in that scarf?
Charlotte is looking like a teenager in this fairisle dress. I do think that a scarf done like a turtleneck ( and not covering the pretty knitted design in her dress) would do a better job of balancing the heaviness of the tall boots.
The heavier profile of your shoes needs something bulkier than your chambray shirt to my eye. Again this is about balance for me. I wonder about putting a burgundy sweater over the dress and just wearing it as a skirt (allowing that big cool rose to take center stage) during the fall season and perhaps adding wine colored tights as well. ??? I could be full of baloney too!

    • You cracked me up with the last statement Jude!! But I always love hearing your suggestions, and the best part, is I can try them (usually) easily!!
That sweater example you emailed would be perfect—how did you know I was loving the choker neck trend?? Maybe because you are a fashionista too!!!

      • Judy Gramith

That dress is really cool and I know that it has sentimental significance to you as well. That is a bold, funky, stand up and notice me print in the dress and I think the neck interest and funky zippers on that sweater can stand up to the bold print of the dress; while simultaneously balancing the chunky profile of the shoes.
The $18 price doesn’t hurt either!

  • It’s about time to put away the sandals and I’m glad to be at that point! Love your shoes and the color is gorgeous!

    • Thanks Carrie!!
I have to admit, that I’m one of those that loves fall weather because of the clothes—-silly reason, I know!

  • Well, once again I was having Disqis issues and it trashed my comments from your last post, so I’ll refer to both. I have to the outfits you’ve styled with these shoes have been some of my favorites! Really fabulous! I had never heard of Jambu before, but because of my health issues, comfortable, supportive shoes are mandatory. These really got my attention! I will definitely be checking them out!

    • What a pain with the Disqus issues, Ronnie!! It must be your magnetic personality that changes up the way it works!! LOL!!
Thanks for the positive vibes with our outfits!!

  • Terri Webster Schrandt

The idea of sweaters and boots right now makes me squirm because of our heat, but gives me hope and something to look forward to! I love the look of jambu but my feet won’t let me wear heels anymore. Fab fall looks!

    • Yah, yah, yah—rub it in Terri!!!!
Our weather is still quite warm some days, but our mornings and evenings are cooling down nicely!!

  • Love the dressed up styling of these shoes. They are definitely versatile

  • Not only do they look stylish these shoes also look so comfortable!

    Tamara – LoveofMode.com

  • Love these looks and LOVE the black boots!!

    Krisztina | http://www.krisztinaclifton.com

  • Mother Daughter

I have reached the age where I am all about comfort but if I can get style also that is great. I love the color of your shoes Jodie, and the style is so cute.

    • I totally understand that Victoria!! It’s nice that at least you can get both nowadays!

  • I love how versatile these shoes are! All amazing looks ladies!

  • I am amazed by the outfits you have created, can’t decide what to look at the attires or the shoes! But those shoes certainly look great and I must mention, you all have some amazing collection of statement neck pieces!

    • Thanks so much Ankita!!
We do have a lot of necklaces between the 3 of us, but we have been collecting them for many years. It’s nice because it’s not like you grow out of them, so when you get older, you still have many from when you were younger!

  • I loveee the color of your shoes, Jodie! They are fanatastic!

    • Thanks Liz!! They certainly don’t hide in the background, do they??

  • I’ve never heard of Jambu, so I appreciate this introduction. I can see that the shoes are comfort-driven with the thick soles and sturdy construction, but I also appreciate the attention to detail and trends. You have trendy suede, ankle straps, and colorblocking done in practical ways. Nancy’s are my favorite. The striped strips along the side would be so fun to show off with different length pants and skirts.

For the longest time, wide fit shoes were always frumpy and more about comfort and fit than style. But that’s changing too. You can always have both style and comfort, and I’m glad to see that shoe companies are getting better at living up to this.

    • I have to agree whole heartedly, Liz!! I do think that it’s now possible to find comfort and style all in one package. It has been nice to find these companies, and try out their ware!

  • You ladies are starting to get ready for colder weather I can see! Yikes, not sure if I’m ready yet! Weren’t we just talking about bringing our bare legs out? Funny how time goes by faster the older we get. I love Nancy’s pants. She looks like such fashionista! But, your shoes are scene stealers!

    • I know what you mean Julia!! The colder weather is not always what I look forward to, but I do love my boots and sweaters!

  • Your mom is rocking those boots!! I love that outfit on her! All of your outfits are fabulous! The shoes are all perfect for fall, and I am loving the color of yours!! Hope you’re all having a great week!

    • Thanks Lindsey! I actually think my mom is going to love these boots more than she imagined. When I first pointed a pair out to her at the store, she pooh poohed it only because she already has so many! But these will keep her warmer!!

  • I love all your outfits today Jodie but Charlotte is soooo rockin it! She’s a babe! Love this post as always!

    • Awwww…Cheryl! That’s just going to make her day!!
      Thanks for that!

  • When I saw today’s photo of your mom, I was like D@mn, that look is🔥! In fact, all three of you came to play with your great styling! I see your shoes come in black too. #Obsessed

    • The black would be perfect for you Darlene (and hey, maybe you’ll win them)!!

  • Living on Cloud Nine

Oh you beauties! I am especially loving the red and black outfits! When I was in college, I got my mom and entire outfit, head to toe, in red and black! She said it’s one of her favorites to this day.

    • That’s such a fabulous memory, Andrea!!!
Maybe your mom needs to be a blogette one of these days?? She could send me a photo, and I’ll include it on the blog??

      • Living on Cloud Nine

Aww she would love that! Thank you!

  • Karen

I like your mom’s dress very much! I’m still very much a dress and skirt wearer, in fact most days I am in one or the other (for work). I also pair navy and black and have done that for some years now. I especially love cobalt and black, but for me, navy works too. Both neutrals. I also pair taupe/camel and black. Just like pretty much anything with black. Nancy looks great in the jumpsuit, and I like how the leg is split at the hem and allows more of the bootie to show! That wrap she’s wearing is beautiful and really dresses up the jumpsuit! I can see that with some cute pumps for a really dressy event! Your slip dress is beautiful! Every time I see that I admire it. I didn’t know the back story. And while I might not (never say never!) go out and buy a slip dress at my age, I’m wondering why not. They are so pretty, and you can always wear a wrap with them. They are very feminine to me. I also lost my best friend at an early age, she happened to also be my cousin, very fashion conscious, always dressed to perfectly suit her personality (kind of bohemian!), loved makeup, how I miss her!!! To have something that belonged to a loved one makes it worth hanging on to and finding new ways to style it, as you have done. I like it a lot with the chambray shirt and like how you have the blue bag to play off the shirt! I changed my summer shoes over a couple weeks ago and was excited to have some “new” options! I’ll feel the same way when I get the summer ones out next spring!! : )

    • I love to hear when women still love to dress up, Karen. Don’t get me wrong—I love my jeans too, but there’s just something about dresses and skirts that speak to me. Maybe it’s the fact that we have options—that’s always a good thing too!
I would have said I would never go out an buy a slip dress—even when this one was in my closet. Because I didn’t even think of it as a slip dress—-until I was seeing them on many blogger’s feeds! Funny how a category name, can make it feel new or different??
Thanks for always being such a cheerleader for not only me, but also my mom and Nancy!
I can’t express how much I look forward to your comments and thoughts!!! It’s like we are sitting down and having coffee. When we do finally meet up, it’ll be like we already know each other!!

      • Karen

I just have to add Jodie, that necklace you are wearing is so fabulous that I don’t even have words!! It would be such fun to meet you in person! : )

        • Thanks Karen!! I am super glad I ended up requesting it again so I could purchase it! So I’ve been trying to wear it a ton, to get my money’s worth!

  • Laura

I love the chambray over top the dress! What a great way to remix it! I like to do that sometimes too!

    • It’s funny how it’s not much different than a denim jacket, but it’s not as obvious to style it like this—at least to me. I must need more practice–ha ha!!
      Thanks Laura!

  • Miriam Zakharova
  • Looking lovely! I love your mums dress i have one almost the same haha. Have a great day!
