Charlotte is now dressing up in leggings as part of our collaboration with Go2 Compression leggings. While life has gotten more casual, I think there is still a way to add our personality to our outfits.
Quote of the day: “The problem with taking it easy is that it sounds attractive at first, until you get into a routine of doing nothing. And you don’t expand your mind or help anybody else.” George W. Bush
Even though leggings have been demonized at times, they can be part of a fabulous outfit. They can be worn for a casual day out and about as Lesley showed us. Or for that important fitness and movement that I’ve been trying to incorporate into my life more.
This is part of a sponsored collaboration with Go2 as Charlotte is showcasing a way of dressing up leggings. All of the details are below what this means, and you can get a discount with the code JODIE25.

Dressing up Leggings Charlotte Style
My mom is the queen of finding great deals, and this tunic has a story, of course. My mom was on her Panama cruise trip and found this tunic in the gift shop. The price ended up being mismarked, so my mom got it for a steal. And of course, wowed all her friends when she wore it to dinner that evening.
My mom wears this tunic quite a bit. She’s shown it on the blog many times, even for our travel series long ago. Heck, she even brought it on our recent Caribbean cruise. You can see it in the actual photos of our suitcase, and you can see her wearing it from the back in the San Juan post.
What Makes the Leggings Outfit Dressier?
Sometimes I think this can be the hardest part of figuring out another way to wear the items we consider in one “category.” I think most times, if we have a piece we bought for workout, then that’s the only way we wear it. And if we have a piece we bought for a dressy occasion, again, we only wear it for fancy.
Yet, as I tried to showcase so many times in the past, many of our clothing items CAN be casual, dressy and even work appropriate (for example the jumpsuits I linked to in that sentence). You just have to think differently.
So dressing up these Go2 compression leggings is as easy as my mother shows it to be. I consider her tunic good for this because of a couple of reasons. One, it’s a silkier material and is ruffly and sheer. For some reason, this seems spiffier. Secondly, it has a defined waist with a drawstring. Truly, it looks like a dress that we tend to think of as fancier.
Insider tip: Material choice can be huge to make items seem more fancy vs. casual. Do you know your materials? If you’re not sure, check the label.
Charlotte’s Thoughts on these Go2 Compression Leggings
When my mom gave me her feedback about the leggings, I had to laugh because it was almost the opposite of Lesley (who thought she would want to size up) and me (who wanted to size down). My mom said they stayed in place nicely and gave a snug feeling.
The other aspect that my mother really liked about these leggings was the flat waistband. I talked about this and showed it off in my review.
The disadvantage of these leggings for Charlotte was that the logo is so prominent on the front. She had to make sure the red top covered this so it didn’t show through the sheer tunic. Her thinking was that this would limit the uses since not everyone loves to showcase a logo. Especially women in her age group. Which made me wonder how you all feel about this.
Insider tip: If you are trying to cover up a logo, you could always sew a piece of black material over it? Not that I’ve done that, but it seems plausible.

Are Leggings Appropriate for Older Women
Let’s talk about the facts as my mother will tell you. As we get older we tend to need to use the bathroom more. And it’s WAY easier to do that with “elastic” waistbands or items that don’t have to be buttoned and zipped.
Trust me, I see lots of elastic waistbands on women in my mother’s community. And not all of them look great. At least with leggings, you don’t have that gathering of material at your waist.
While many might say leggings are too tight for older women, I would disagree. I think it’s all about what you pair with them. And just because leggings have spandex, does not mean they have to be skin-tight.
Insider tip: Just because you usually wear a certain size (say a medium), doesn’t mean you have to buy that size. Maybe you buy a large so the leggings aren’t so tight.
Insider tip 2: Even leggings can be altered. Charlotte has put darts in the back waist of the leggings to make them fit snugger.
