Floral for the 50’s, 60’s & 70’s: The Business Version
Quote of the day: “To change your reality you have to change your inner thoughts.” David Bohm
Of course once the spring months come along we start thinking of adding floral pieces to our outfits. Just don’t forget, in this age of very few fashion rules, these floral items can certainly be worn all year long. Some floral pieces assuredly look more light and bright and thus conjures up images of warmth and sunshine. Even if you’re not a flower girl (like me)—there is always something for everyone. For this series of discussions, I’ll show off floral pieces such as shoes, a jacket and a skirt—all worn differently for different occasions! In this post, I’ll tailor the feminine print to be office appropriate.
50’s Outfit: I know, I know….I didn’t need anymore shoes. But what’s a girl to do when Kohl’s has their 30% off sale? Besides they are a perfect way to add a little color into the monotony of work clothes. And totally appropriate since if you’re sitting at a desk, they only peek out occasionally!
60’s Outfit: Wearing almost any structured jacket is befitting for the office, especially since the flowers on this jacket are relatively subtle.
70’s Outfit: The idea of a floral skirt may not seem business proper; however, don’t you think the button down blouse, jacket & heels make it so?
Thanks for visiting my styling blog! Have you ever worn floral to the office?
