The Fringe Jacket by Metrostyle for 3 generations
Make sure you enter at the bottom of the post for a Starbucks giveaway!!
Most of us are familar with the stores in our neighborhoods and even the big named brands. But there are so many other options available to us now with the advent of online shopping!
Take for instance the company Metrostyle. Most of the women I talked to hadn’t heard of the company, yet this site has a multitude of fresh and modern pieces available that would work for women of all ages!
I figure part of my job as a fashion blogger is to not only introduce you to new styles, or how to wear what you have in your closet, but also scope out different venues at which to buy our clothing. The advantage to looking into different retailers is that then you aren’t wearing the exact same pieces that everyone else is wearing!
Consequently the three of us are showing you 6 different outfits all wearing the same fringed olive green jacket! Since my goal is always to have versatility with the clothing pieces I own, I had each of us wear this jacket for a casual day and a dressier occasion! Now when I call this a jacket I don’t mean outerwear! This is a perfect lightweight topper to your outfits that could work for many seasons.
Jodie’s (the 50’s model) Casual Outfit: I tried to vary the colors I styled for all of us with this jacket! So for my 2 outfits, I tried to incorporate pastel colors with the green!
Green and purple has been one of my new favorite color combinations since I started blogging!
These lilac jeans have been worn quite a bit since I purchased them. I tried to keep the rest of my pieces neutral with a tan striped shirt under the jacket and snakeskin flats!
Jodie’s (the 50’s model) Dressy Outfit: For the fancier outfit, I placed a pastel silk blouse under the jacket to give a dressier flair to the look.
This jacket is a cascading jacket with no closure, so I got creative by placing a brooch at the top of the lapels. This created a more asymmetrical hemline at the bottom!
Since my usual idea of dressy is a skirt or dress, I wore a tan skirt and my new OTK boots, which are also this olive green color! Or if you’ve always wanted a faux leather skirt, Metrostyle has one that would work great with this jacket!
Nancy’s (the 60’s model) Casual Outfit: For Nancy’s variation in her outfits I decided to pair her jacket with all neutrals!
I started with an all white look under the jacket to really make the jacket stand out!
We left the jacket open for this look and you can see how the the fringe hangs slightly lower than the body of the jacket.
Nancy’s (the 60’s model) Dressy Outfit: For Nancy’s second look, we put the jacket over a fit and flare dress for her dressier outfit! She also shows how it looks over a shift dress in a post, here, earlier in the week!
We added a pin for this outfit but placed it lower at her waist for this look. Since the material is lightweight, it’s quite easy to put a pin or brooch anyplace on it!
The length of the jacket is a good mid length. It stops at the top of the thighs for Nancy who is 5’0″! Here’s another neutral dress that would look great with this jacket!
Charlotte’s (the 70’s model) Casual Outfit: For mom’s variation with this same jacket, we paired it with other fall colors!
I started with blue jeans since that’s the definition of casual for most of us! For those of you who can’t seem to find a reasonably priced pair of jeans, check out these!
Then I added in her red ankle boots, an olive print shirt and red accessories!
Charlotte’s (the 70’s model) Dressy Outfit: Mom wanted to wear her tan boots for warmth so we matched them to her tan sweater skirt for the dressy look!
I felt like a burgundy shirt and orange & red scarf reminded me of the beautiful colors on the trees that we saw while taking her photos!
One of the details that drew me to this jacket was the fringe! It may be a throwback to the 70’s, but that’s exactly what makes it stylish right now!
When I received this jacket, the fringe was flatter than pictured! But after one washing, it curled nicely to look like what you see in the pictures.
The sleeves are nice and fitted on this jacket and aren’t even too long on the 3 of us!
It could certainly be worth your time to peruse Metrostyles website and see if any of their offerings appeal to you! I would love to entice you to do this by giving away a $20 Starbucks gift card in the rafflecopter below. Think of it as breakfast on me!!
We were gifted these pieces from Metrostyle in a compensated campaign with this brand. The styling and the written post are purely my own.
