Horizontal Stripes for the 50’s, 60’s, & 70’s: The Dressy Version
Quote of the day: “No one knows you better than you. Except maybe your mother.” Lea Michele
If you’re a regular reader of the blog, then you know that for this post I’m going to style the same horizontal striped garments for this blog, our third category. First we wore them for a day at the office (here) and then for a day hanging out (here). It may not be an easy task to dress up some of our striped items, but silk, glitter and mesh along with some leg showing apparel can usually do the trick. It may seem silly to try to make the same items work for such different categories, but I’ve always loved a challenge!
50’s Horizontal Strip (Jacket): I don’t think of my jacket as dressy, so I threw it on over a silk dress & went with a gauzy scarf.

60’s Horizontal Stripe (Sweater): Talk about layering! We put Nancy’s sweater over a dress and then topped it with her glittery jacket!

70’s Horizontal Stripe (Top): This “necklace” can also be a belt and it’s reversible creating a black & silver abstract pattern.
