How to Style Easy Fall Outfits

Styling easy fall outfits incorporates two basics in my head. A great pair of jeans and a fun jacket. And Lesley has them both in this outfit.

Quote of the day: “Use what talents you possess: the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best.” Henry van Dyke

I thought this quote was very meaningful. Many women want to know the “secret” to getting dressed easily and look good. And while we aren’t “models” in the New York fashion week, I think we can all inspire each other.

This is a sponsored post/outfit from National. You may recognize the jacket from my mom’s outfit. And the funny thing is how I even chose a similar colored sweater. If you find something great from National, you can even save 20% off with the code Natl20jodie.

And don’t forget to check out the home we toured in these outfits. We learned more than just about the architecture.

Lesley’s Easy Fall Outfits

Easy fall outfits

Jeans and denim are certainly the easy choice for most of us. But how fun when our jeans have a little sass and interest to them. That’s why Lesley chose these embroidered jeans from National.

The jeans have an elastic waistband but it’s flattering because there aren’t the gathers under the elastic. These are offered in petites; however, Lesley ordered the regular size. And they didn’t even need to be shortened. For your reference, Lesley is 5’2″.

I love that Lesley is wearing a scarf/headband. And the funny thing is it was included with the purse from National. Even though you don’t see it with the photo of the purse on their site, it is included in the verbiage. And the colors in this purse allow it to go with almost anything you wear.

Lesley’s a lucky woman to have a daughter that makes some wonderful jewelry pieces. This yellow jade and silver necklace is one of them. As for the cool bracelet, she bought it at a craft fair in Scottsdale, AZ. Her good friend has lived in Arizona for many years. So while she was down visiting, she added this piece of jewelry to her collection.

This is the kind of top that really works all year long. At least here in Arizona. Because it’s sleeveless, it’s great for the hotter months. And then it becomes the perfect layering piece when it starts to cool down.

And even though the top has stripes (and you know ANYONE can wear stripes), they are subtle stripes. They would be a wonderful print mixing element because of this feature.

The top is also a little longer so for today’s post Lesley tied up the front ends in a knot. I’ve seen a lot of shirts with this design on them lately. Yet I like it when you can do it yourself so it’s your choice. Even though I didn’t get a great photo of the back of her top, it has a back pleat which is quite flattering.

Embroidered jeans

Nude shoes are definitely a must have for every woman. Lesley said these are an old pair from Stein Mart, but it goes to show how they work every year. And these fit in well especially with the tan top. They also keep the focus on the colorful jacket.

I know most of us think of black and a must have basic for shoes, but I do think there are a couple of other options too. Besides a nude pair, a nice bright pair is wonderful too. We’ve shown outfits with both red shoes and yellow shoes in the past.

Ruffle Jacket

This jacket is one of those that really works for almost every season. The colors are thought of for spring and summer, yet they can transition to fall and winter too. If this isn’t your color of choice, the jacket does come in a blue also. And because it’s a knit, it’s very comfortable.

For sizing, the jacket is available in plus sizes but not petites. As you can see, Lesley rolled up the sleeves which works perfectly with this kind of material.
