Jambu Shoes for Style & Casual Comfort & Giveaway

Quote of the day: “It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change.” Charles Darwin

If you’ve ever heard of Jambu shoes then you might realize why I picked this quote for this post. Because if it’s one thing I hear over and over from my older friends, it’s the fact they they need comfortable shoes. Personally, I’m very lucky with my feet. Sure, I have bunions, but they don’t hurt or prevent me from wearing most shoes. So I’ve never researched the “comfortable” shoe companies.

When Jambu Shoes reached out to me, I will be truthful and say I wasn’t sure I’d like their offerings. I know, I know, I’m a shoe snob. But you’ve heard me say over and over how I think they can make such a difference in an outfit. So imagine my surprise when I saw great looking shoes on their site.

Let me first say that they are giving a discount to my readers below along with a fabulous giveaway. And secondly, you wouldn’t believe the tread on these shoes!! If you live anywhere there is snow or ice, then these shoes might end up being your go-to shoes. Now only do they have memory foam on the inside, but they are water resistant and have tread on the soles to keep you on your feet.

Jodie’s (50+) Outfit: Let me start with my Jambu Shoes. I chose the Canary shoe in what they call Plum suede. It’s also available in black leather.

I know when I was asking about these shoes, I was worried that the plum would be purple. But instead it’s more of a burgundy in my eyes. If you compare them to Nancy’s boots below, they are definitely brighter and maybe a tidge darker.

Women over 50 and Jambu shoes

For those of you who say they can’t wear heels, I was extremely surprised that these didn’t seem as high as you would think. There is a 1 inch platform, so really the heel height is less than 2.5″. Maybe that was why I could walk all day in them and have no issues.

The other great factor is the ankle strap. I’ve talked before how the ankle strap makes shoes much easier to walk in because your foot doesn’t move as much. Well these ankle straps are fastened by velcro, so they are easy to get in and out of. Let’s just say, they may be my airport shoes from now on.

Jambu shoes with Camo

For my casual outfit featuring these Jambu shoes, I wanted to wear my newly thrifted camo jeans.

Ever since the three of us have featured the camo print on this blog, I’ve really come to love it. So when I found these jeans at our local thrift store, Act 2, I figured I had to have them. You can see how I wore them for our #thriftedchicstylechallenge for August.

I’m not just showing you more camo jeans just for the fun of it, but I actually think they are so fun. Most camo prints are a very subtle color and print, so you could style some print mixing with them easily. For example this pair doesn’t seem that much different than a pair of blue jeans. Or there is always the traditional green camo pair that are perfect for the fall and winter.

Jambu Shoes and Women 50+

For my accessories for the outfit, I did try to keep things more subtle. I figured there was a lot going on with the mesh top, and camo jeans. So I wore a smaller green necklace, very small earrings and a burgundy bracelet.

I don’t think the shoes are necessarily the star of the show, but they certainly made me feel very rock starish for some reason.

Nancy’s (60+) Outfit: Nancy has a pair of burgundy tall boots that she loves from years ago, so her choice of the Jambu shoes were these Amal ankle boots.

She figured since she wore the burgundy tall boots so much, then it’d be nice to have a burgundy ankle boot too. The fun aspect of this pair is the different textures on the back portion of the bootie.

Women over 60 with Jambu Shoes

These booties have a heel, but since it’s less than 2 inches (with the half inch platform), they are certainly easy to walk in, even if it’s for some distance.

You wouldn’t believe the bottom sole of these ankle boots. They have a recycled rubber sole just like mine, that are going to be amazing for the ice and snow. I think they are better than most of our other boots in our closets.

Jambu Shoes as ankle boots

Nancy’s casual outfit started with a pair of leggings so she could show off the fun design on the back portion of the boots.

This tunic is one she wore for our accessories post recently, and since it matched so nicely, she decided to give it a whirl here too.

Casual Style with Jambu Shoes

Since there was print on the boots and print on Nancy’s tunic, we added only a small necklace. But the earrings are a good size and bring out the burgundy color from the tunic and footwear.

I realize most of us don’t wear booties with sleeveless tops, because if it’s cold enough for ankle boots, then it’s cold enough for sleeves. But like I discussed when we wore our ankle boots with our summer skirts, it’s a very modern look to mix and match the seasonal items. And I think they could be a smart choice for the transitional times. For example, this one would even work as a duster if you needed one. Or this one has such an incredible design, that it’d be gorgeous over a pencil skirt too.

Charlotte’s (70+) Outfit: Like I talked about in the Fall Trends update from a couple of weeks ago, OTK boots are really gaining traction among women of all ages.

And these Kendra boots, are a perfect example of how Jambu Shoes is keeping up with the modern styles, yet providing comfort.

Jambu Shoes for Women 70+

These over-the-knee boots have a wedge heel and the top isn’t extremely over the knee. This could be the perfect starter if you’ve never tried an OTK boot before?

The only point I would make is the circumference of the shaft of the boot. You can see that my mom was able to even get them on over her skinny jeans. But I know some women have wider calves and legs, and this might not work for those cases. The leg portion does stretch, but I can see how it wouldn’t work for everyone.

Jambu Shoes as OTK boots

This casual outfit is one that I would consider perfect for running errands or having lunch with friends.

It’s been very stylish to tuck our jeans into our boots for the last couple of seasons. And I don’t see that it’ll probably change this year either.  I would like to point out that the jeans are a subtle print while the sweater is stripes, so my mom is mixing her prints again.

And if you have yet to try out a pair of skinny jeans, don’t let the name fool you. They are fabulous for women of every size and shape. If for nothing else, having a pair of skinny jeans like these, can make it so much easier to tuck your jeans into your taller boots. Of course you don’t have to stick with blue jeans. You could experiment with olive green, black or a print version.

Casual Style with Jambu Shoes

And even though my mom wanted to wear a shirt under the sweater, I twisted her arm to wear a scarf instead. I thought the bright colors of the scarf, were a nice mix to the color scheme. Besides the fact is that the scarf is another print. Wowza, that’s 3 prints for mom, and doesn’t it look fabulous?

  • I just found this blog via Shelbee and it’s lovely. And such an interesting niche too! All three of you look lovely and proves that great style is really ageless. As for the Jambu shoes, I never heard the brand but now I have to check them out. I stopped wearing heels for like ten years and I am now recently getting back to wearing. It’s a slow and painful process. Maybe these shoes will make my transition better.

    • Welcome Gigi!! I’m so glad you found my family fun on the internet!! And thanks for the kind words!
I do think Jambu really has something special here. I haven’t been wearing the highest heels like I used to recently, but this pair was a nice surprise!!

  • Missy May

Now these shoes will last y’all for a long time. All looks comfortable and perfect for Fall/Winter. Wonderful outfits as always. 🙂

  • The three of you seem to get rockstar cooler with every post! You look great in these photos! I love these boots. The traction is perfect and the color and overall style are gorgeous. I like the thicker heels on the ankle boots and the wedge on the tall boots. I think I may be adding a pair of these (or three) to my closet this fall!

    • That’s such a nice compliment Cathy for all of us!
Hopefully we evolve and find great styles along our life journey!! These fabulous shoes don’t hurt in the process!!!

  • Love the pretty burgundy colors! These look so comfy too.

  • WOW, Jambu shoes look amazing on all three of you, ladies! Do you know if they ship internationally, Jodie?
    Have a wonderful week!

    • I just found out…they don’t, Miri. But maybe sometime in the future!

  • Gosh I LOVE your shoes Jodie…Right up my street!
    Great looks as always.
(I’m sure all three of you are getting younger every time I see your photos… having fun with fashion must be good for the soul!)

    • Now that’s the best compliment ever Samantha!!

  • I’ve got to look up Jambu. Stylish and sensible in one piece of footwear is rare. I love all 3 of your picks there. Good choices.

    • Thanks so much Anna!!
It is nice to have companies realize that style & comfort can go together…

  • WONDERFUL that new companies are finding you, Jodie – and that companies like Jambu Shoes are not *just* about fashion. The days of “hobbling” to look good couldn’t end soon enough for me! I deserted early, so I’m proud to say I can still walk today – lol – and all of my toes are still straight. Even though I wore relatively high heels for most of my adult life, I stayed away from the pointy toes and scoured Manhattan for the retro 40s look and open toes.

Glad to see that your mom is still mixin’ prints, and that she went for the OTKs. I jumped on that bandwagon in NYC when they made a brief appearance a couple of decades back. Still have (and wear) a couple of pairs – INCLUDING my thigh-highs, which I adore (they scrunch too). Even tho’ I’m already tall, I have always loved my oh-so-comfortable platforms (and pushing 6′ in them!)

Fun post, as always, and all three of you look great. NOW, if we could just talk the clothing designers into ALWAYS giving us functional pockets!!!!

    • Thanks so much for the positive energy, Madelyn!!
It’s funny you say that about pockets, because my mom is one of those women who will take them out of her clothing!! She thinks they add too much bulk. Another good example of how we are all so different!!

      • Have her send her pockets to ME – I need to put them IN! But then I don’t have the kind of body shape with a tiny waist and larger hips, so I suppose that makes a difference too. I’m more like a coat hanger (everything hanging from broad shoulder) – so a bit of added bulk below isn’t a concern. Plus, without pockets, I misplace things – lol.

  • Jacqueline Rendine

Love these shoes! The color you are wearing is perfect for fall!

    Stylin In St. Louis

  • I don’t have a very good shoe game, so this was a great post for me to see. 🙂 I recently bought a pair of sandles that use velcro. At first I felt like a little kid, but I love them. And I’m so glad that it’s boot season again! I do have some little boots that I love to wear.

    • I think the velcro is a fabulous detail, Lisa! It’s so much easier than buckles, and who really notices that anyways!!

  • Sue Loncaric

Love these Jodie especially Nancy’s boots. They look stylish and comfortable. Pity I live in Australia as I suppose the giveaway is only for US residents. Have a great week!

    • Wow…that’s a good question Sue…I never even think to ask that. I will ask the Jambu rep and let you know!!

  • WHat fun shoe styles – I love the burgundy color of yours!

    • Thanks Michelle—they almost go with everything!!

  • I love the shoes Jodie…all of them are fun ! The color of your pair is one of my fav’s far fall, have a great day beauty , cant wait to see you next month!

    • Thanks so much Valerie!! They are fun shoes, aren’t they?? The funny thing is I’m wearing them IRL today too!!

  • Absolutely love your mesh top Jodie. Comfort and style is important, especially for shoes. You are all looking good! Love the colour of your shoes!

    • Thanks so much Carmen!! It is such an interesting top…but I haven’t worn it much at all. Granted it would be better for the warmer temps, but I’m going to make a goal to figure out some great outfits with it!

  • This shoes look so comfy and chic Jodie! Love your pair especially. Thanks for sharing the giveaway!

  • You look like a rockstar in your burgundy shoes Jodie! I love all of y’alls shoes and appreciate how Jambu makes on trend, comfortable!

    Pumps and Push-Ups

  • Your shoes are such a beautiful color and I know the platform makes it seem like they’re taller than they are. I have to say I like Nancy’s booties the best. I love when there is a little detail, like the back and heel design that add so much personality. Fun and thanks for the discount!

    • You’re exactly right about the platforms, Julia!! And considering I’ve never been considered tall, this is a nice change–ha ha!!
The detail on Nancy’s boots are the best part, I agree! She was so excited to get this pair!

  • Kris Ronchetti

Love the outfits and the shoes. Went to Jambu website and signed up. I love the looks of these shoes and most important the comfort. Thanks for introducing these!

    • I’m so glad this is something that interests you, Kris!!
It’s nice that we live in a time, where we can look great but still be comfortable!
I really appreciate your thoughts and support!

  • hi jodie! i am so thrilled to be working with jambu as well. i have always loved their shoes. Comfort and style is a plus!! you know i have the same pair of shoes as you and they caught my eye right away! Love all 3 pairs, they are all different and fun!

    jess xx

    • We are very lucky to have the opportunities to work with these companies. Without blogging, I’d be wearing the same brands over and over!!
      Happy Monday, and thanks, Jess!!

  • Rebecca Saffer

Love all three outfits and the shoes/boots are beautiful. I have just been hearing about this brand and will definitely check it out soon. I can’t pick my favorite outfit here because you all have put together such perfect ones!

    • Thanks so much Rebecca!! It is nice to find a company that really gets the idea of stylish with comfort!!

  • Mireille

You all look great! Love each of your looks!

  • Laura

These look like amazing shoes that are fashionable and comfortable! I love the burgundy color of your pair and Nancy’s! It looks amazing paired with camo!

    • Thanks Laura!! Burgundy is one of those fall colors, at least in my mind, so what better way to usher in the season!!

  • Judy Gramith

I was aware of the Jambu brand. I think they’ve been featured on Zulily more than once.
I LOVE your crochet top with the boots. For the cooler months I’d pair it with a similar color turtle neck beneath and some complimentary burgundy colored leggings under a short burgundy plaid or fun abstract pattern print skirt ( something in a corduroy or synthetic/wool?). I’m thinking that Charlotte could whip up a liitle a-line skirt in a heartbeat!!!
I really like Nancy’s entire look. Her boots are my favorite! How about a cargo jacket in black, burgundy or rust brown over that same top to update for cooler weather?
Charlotte really has adopted pattern mixing into her look and you can see that she’s really enjoying it! I see her in a large plaid or other pattern , wool look (synthetic) wrap/scarf over that same sweater when the weather cools off.
Jambu rocks and you ladies are all rockin your late summer looks!!

    • I bet my mom could whip me up a skirt like that in no time flat!! It seems like every time I go over to her house, she’s created something new and different!! Ha ha!
We were so lucky to be able to showcase such great boots/shoes for the fall–it almost makes me ready for cooler weather (notice I said almost….)
      Thanks tons Jude!

      • Judy Gramith

OR…Maybe I should just keep my big ol mouth shut and let you do your own awesome styling. Just a thought:-)

        • NEVER!!
How would I come up with some of the best ideas without your thoughts and ideas?? To me that’s the best part of blogging, is how someone else might imagine it!!
Don’t stop, Jude!! It really is the best part of my day!!

  • These shoes are giving me all the fall vibes!!

    Tamara – LoveofMode.com

    • It is amazing how just certain colors or shoes can make you think the new season will be great, Tamara!

  • Karen

I love your look with the burgundy “bookending” the camo pants. That mesh top is an accessory itself, and it was a great idea to wear the neutral tank underneath. Burgundy/wine colors seem to be big this fall, and wearing the color in footwear is fabulous! I like Nancy’s boots with that top. Since we still have some warm days, sleeveless tops in darker tones still say fall, I think. And paired under a jacket or cardigan later makes it work through the seasons. Your mom is an inspiration! With her more frequent, yet subtle, pattern mixing and willingness to have fun with trends, she is pulling off some great looks! I like how you let the unique shoes/boots shine by using smaller accessories.

    • Thanks so much Karen!!
I haven’t worn this mesh top much since I thrifted it, because I wasn’t sure how to style it. So I’m trying it out a couple of different ways—we’ll see if I keep it!!
And both mom and Nancy have been such good sports with being adventuresome for the blog!! How lucky am I?

  • Jambu shoes are seriously so comfy! I have a pair and love how comfortable they are to wear! Y’all look so fab in your new shoes!
    By Lauren M

    • They are amazing, Lauren!! It’s nice that manufacturers are putting both aspects into footwear now!!

  • Your mom is ROCKING the over the knee boots! It makes me happy that she wants to take that fashion risk! I looove your burgundy booties. I’m going to your Instagram now to enter the giveaway! They really are perfect for the airport!

    • My mom will love to hear you say this Roxanne!!
In fact last week, I took Nancy (the 60+ model) to the shoe store, and we bought her a pair of OTK boots too!! Yippee!
Now all 3 of us have a pair, so we’ll be sporting them together for a couple of posts later in the season!!
      Good luck with the giveaway!!

  • donnanance

Jambu shoes are a new brand to me and what you have chosen and styled look fabulous! Jodie, I love that mesh top and it is perfect with the shoes. Nancy’s booties are interesting with the stripe detail on the back. It would be a shame to cover that up. The color is pretty too. You mom’s OTK boots are great for fall and upcoming winter weather. I love that all the shoes have a good, nonslip sole. The stripes in your mom’s sweater meld very nicely with the color of the boots. Yay for pattern mixing! xoxo

    • Thanks for the wonderful insights Donna!!
I have to admit that the sole on these shoes was quite impressive! It’s not like I go out traipsing in the snow as much anymore, but just walking from the car to wherever can be dangerous some days!! I usually wear flats, but none of my flats have the tread that these have, so these are going to win hands down!!!

  • All three are fabulous ageless looks that take advantage of the key elements needed for a fun and modern style. I must say though that color combo in your outfit, Jodie, is brilliant. Thanks for the inspirations and introduction to this brand of shoes.

    • Thanks Rena!! I certainly have dipped my toe into trying color combinations that I never would have thought of in my younger years!! In fact, Nancy and I were just talking about red and burgundy, and I told her the story about your dad!!

  • Stevie Turner

    Love your Jambu shoes!

  • All your shoes are so cute! I had never heard of this shoe company until you started showing them. Style with comfort is the perfect combination! Happy Monday!

    • Thanks so much Cheryl!! I have to admit, I don’t search out comfort shoes, but when they look good….then I’m all in!!

  • Bernadette Laganella

I have never worn the over the knee boot but I might just go over to Jamba and take a look at that boot.
    great post.

    • I have to admit, they certainly are extremely functional in the cold weather, Bernadette!!
I just took Nancy (the 60+ model) shopping this week to find a pair that would fit over her calves!! So be on the lookout for a post with all three of us wearing them when it gets colder!!

  • GOindiastore

Wow, I love this post. Your photos are so amazing!

  • Looks like a great brand and they look really comfy too. Gemma x

    • Thanks Gemma!
It is nice when you can combine the comfort part with looking great!

  • Debbie Stinedurf

You know I love this whole look Jodie…and your booties are fabulous! I’m the same as you, even though I had foot surgery I still shy away from “comfortable shoe” companies, but I love these.

    • Well, I’m glad I’m not the only “shoe snob” out there Debbie!! I understand the comfort thing as we get older, but my love of shoes prevails!! Hopefully, I plan to die in my sexy heels!! Ha ha!
