You know you’re getting older when you say things like “where did the month go?” Right?? What you’ll notice is how we have transitioned our exploration days to inside activities. For most people, the summer means being outside, except when you live in Arizona!
Quote of the day: “Art is made in hindsight.” Virgil Abloh
Art. It’s an interesting concept because, in reality, it’s all around us. And when we start to look at our life as blessings with gratitude, it becomes a work of art. There’s me being philosophical about the month!!
So while this month flew by, I still have lots to share.
Creating Video
I offered to help out a friend who is passionate about helping out with Ukrainian refugees. She put together a way where influencers can donate fashionable items and they will be auctioned off. The best part is how 100% of the proceeds will go to help these Ukrainian refugees.
Since we don’t have high-end fashion items, my friend sent us over a dozen items, and I put together videos of styling them. There are things of all different sizes, brands, and colors.
My mom is modeling a sunflower jacket and Lesley is showing off a black and white jacket.
The auction is on July 4-5 ONLY, so I hope you will tune into the site, here, and bid on the things you like.
PS. The reason it’s called a reelathon is that these videos on Instagram are called reels. So she took the old-fashioned telethon and made it modern!!
Redecorating
One of the reasons I’m trying to cut back on my blogging schedule lately is to take time to do the things I have put off for ages.
Like redecorating. We moved here 3 years ago, and since then have added things to the “gallery” wall as well as moved some furniture around.
Of course, it’s normal to move things around because when you first move to a place, you aren’t always sure how the room will function, right? However, I am one of those who will change the furniture around even more than that. For some reason, it’s fun for me.
So, I really wanted to change up the gallery wall because it had become too cluttered and strange. This is the final (for now, haha), but this also meant that I moved the bar cart and some other things on the wall.
Isn’t it the reality that when you change one thing, you end up changing lots??
Giveaway Wins
If you’ve been following me for a while, then you know that I’m a sucker for giveaways. And because I enter a ton of them, I win every once in a while.
The top and skirt in the photo on the upper left I won from a company called Bubledon that has brands you see a lot on Amazon. The skirt you saw on Sunday in my Daily Outfits post.
Obviously, I was on a lilac kick, and while I love the print on the top, the material is weird to me. So I may give it away.
The Modzori shoes are something I won in May but they didn’t get into my hot little hands until June. They are a cool concept where the straps are reversible. The style is something different than my norm, but considering how comfortable they are, I’m going to see how I can get them to work for me.

New Products I’m Using
1-I shared this Sugar Scrub in my email some time ago, but I want to give it another shoutout. This is a local company here in Phoenix and the woman makes these products herself in her kitchen. They are ALL toxic-free and fabulous.
There is no vested interest in me sharing this except that I think this is the BEST scrub I’ve ever used. And would it help to know that she’s a smart cookie? She’s a forensic scientist, and making products like this is very science-oriented.
What makes it different?? First, is the fact that it doesn’t separate so you don’t have to mix it each time. And secondly, it emulsifies so that when you use it, it actually turns into a creamy exfoliating lotion.
I never thought about exfoliating as much as I do now because it actually helps my dry skin by removing the dead skin layer.
2- The other item is our new blanket that even Spookie likes (and trust me, she doesn’t usually get on our blankets). This is the 365 Blanket from Muslin Comfort. You wouldn’t think we would need blankets in the summer, but it’s nice to have one that regulates our body temperature as this one does. Rob loves it even more than Spookie.
BTW, it’s VERY oversized. In fact, I wished we had gotten a size smaller. If you have a pillowtop mattress and tall bed, then the oversized would be perfect. JTOUCHOFSTYLE gives you 22% off.
3- Have you tried Versed skincare products? I feel like these are the non-toxic, budget-oriented items that rival my love of GoPure products. Right now, my favorite is the Day Dissolves and Gentle Cycle cleaners used together because they take off my all-day lipstick easily.
Places We’ve Gone
The month of June is all about finding things to do that are inside. I’m basically the tour guide for my blog family, and I take my work seriously!!
For one day, we visited 2 different Goodwills to use some of my Goodwill gift cards. We even went on a Thursday so we could take advantage of $1 day. The pile of things is from that adventure.
We also took a tour of the Biltmore Resort which is a masterpiece of art deco design. It was super cool to be able to see 2 rooms that normal resort guests wouldn’t be able to visit.
The other events that were part of our June exploration were in Scottsdale where every Thursday evening they had an hour called Stories and Sweets. It was a lecture given about the history of Scottsdale and included some kind of treat from local eateries.
It was a such wonderful way to learn more about the area.
