A Kimono with a Casual Outfit

Quote of the day: “I don’t have to be perfect.  All I have to do is show up and enjoy the messy, imperfect, and beautiful journey of my life.  It’s a trip more wonderful than I could have imagined.” Kerry Washington

As I said in the kimono for dress up post, I got so enthusiastic with this kimono because of how versatile it can be.  The kimono is a loose, flowy garment and thus, not likely to give too much warmth for the wearer (for those of you who struggle with being too hot).  Yet it still acts as a layering piece which can be used to complete your outfit and make your t-shirt look, oh so, better!

It would also be fabulous used as a bathing suit cover up.  Many kimonos are multi-colored which makes them very versatile for combining with other pieces in your closet!

Charlotte (70’+) Outfit:  It’s interesting how the yellow of the kimono is emphasized when it’s paired with yellow pants in this picture.  I accessorized with a wood necklace & earrings to keep it more informal.
