Covered Perfectly for the 50’s, 60’s, & 70’s: The Smart Version
We were gifted these shirts from Covered Perfectly, but I was not paid for writing my posts. All of our feelings are honest and true!
Quote of the day: “Adaptability is about the powerful difference between adapting to cope and adapting to win.” Max McKeown
In this next episode of the Covered Perfectly shirts, I thought I’d try to take them to work. If you’re wearing a jacket or cardigan in the workplace, then you realize that your shirt underneath it gets very little exposure. Therefore, why not have it be soft and comfortable? And as for my personal opinion, I always like having at least a short sleeve shirt on under my blazers, so perspiration doesn’t get onto the jacket itself. For these reasons, our Covered Perfectly shirts were a match made in heaven for these outfits! You can see how I styled them for a dress up day here. And a couple specials from the company for my readers are at the bottom of the post.
50’s Outfit: Even an opened shoulder shirt can be appropriate for work, since the jacket covers up the revealing parts! Can you tell that my trousers are actually jean material?

60’s Outfit: The bright colored shirt is a wonderful way to add some coloring to an otherwise very neutral outfit.
70’s Outfit: We picked a non closing cardigan for mom to wear so you could appreciate the wonderful print of her shirt.

The 60’s thoughts on her wrap shirt: Nancy loves the color & shape of her shirt. There is a lot of material in the front of this style, and it tends to hang open. Therefore, I had mom alter it to take away some of the extra material to allow it to lie flatter to the body. This change in my opinion, makes it look more flattering on Nancy. You can see the difference in the model’s shirt here. Of course the extra material may not be as much of a problem if you are taller….Nancy is 5’0″.
