Light Blue 2 (With Other Blues)

Light Blue for the 50's, 60's, & 70's.

Light Blue for the 50’s, 60’s, & 70’s: Paired with Other Blues

Quote of the Day: “If we would have new knowledge, we must get a whole world of new questions.” Anonymous

Psychologically they say the color blue exhibits confidence and reduces stress.  Therefore, in my head, if you wear many different shades of it, you should feel terrific and relaxed!   Thus I’m doing a (somewhat) monochromatic blue look for the three of us.   These same light blue pieces were paired with white clothing in an earlier post (here).

50’s Light Blue (Sweater):  One way to get inspiration for different color combinations (besides blogs), is looking at jewelry or clothing that you like.  I got this bracelet in Buena Vista, Colorado on one of our knitting retreat weekends.  I especially love it for it’s uniqueness and various colors!  The bracelet is what inspired me to think to wear my pink flats & necklace with this blue combo.

60’s Light Blue (T-Shirt): This jacket has such flattering ruching in the front that I tend to want Nancy to wear it all the time.  Realistically it’s a great way to add finesse to the capri jeans .  The bracelet could be considered an “antique” since it was originally Nancy’s grandmother’s bracelet.

70’s Light Blue (Trousers):  Mom got this jacket as a “hand me down” from one of my friends (thanks Jess)!  It has this beautiful shine that doesn’t come across as well in the pictures.  Since it’s very stunning, I tried to keep the rest of the outfit subdued so the jacket can take all the glory!

  • I definitely wear a lot of blue, but not sure on that reduction of stress thing. Maybe I don’t want to know how it’d be without 😉 Anyway, I love the pattern of your top and the chinese style jacket of your mother is beautiful.

    Have a nice weekend!

    • Thanks Alex! That psychology of color thing is interesting, but you have to wonder about the reality of it, huh?

  • This time around YOUR outfit is my favorite!! I love Nancy’s jacket too. 🙂 I have a similar jacket as your mom that I picked up in Beijing. By the way, your mom’s hair looks FAB in this picture!
