Little Black Dress Fall for the 50’s, 60’s, & 70’s: Dressy Wear
Quote of the day: “You are not here merely to make a living. You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world, and you impoverish yourself if you forget the errand.” Woodrow T. Wilson
Going to a dressy party or night out is the reason everyone has a little black dress in their closet, right? For the cooler months, I paired them with a cardigan, 3/4 length sleeve jacket and belted blouse. These exact same black dresses were spruced up for the warmer months here and for the fall season as workwear (here) and casual (here).
50’s LBD: I tried to show the interesting cut on these ankle booties. They also have a band of silver on the toe portion. I love them, but they are definitely a sit around shoe, not a walking around shoe.
60’s LBD: This jacket is part of a suit, but breaking it up and wearing it with her black dress is perfect. Especially since both the cuffs of the sleeve and the hem of the dress have a small ruffle.
70’s LBD: Mom’s silky blouse is actually more of a bright green in person. It’s a wonderful color for her fair complexion.
And some new, maybe even different LBDs for your collection:
