Maxi Dress for the 50’s, 60’s, & 70’s: The Appointment Wear
Quote of the day: “The way I see it, you have to take every chance you get because there may not be another one. You have to learn from your mistakes, because nobody’s perfect. You have to laugh, love and live every day as if it’s your last.” Mary-Kate Olsen
I came up with a new category for the maxi (and used it for my kimono post here) because I didn’t think the maxi dress would fit easily into the work appropriate category. So I came up with the Appointment Wear category. Don’t laugh, but as we get older it seems like there are more and more appointments to frequent (be it health related or finance related). And as such, I think one should dress sharply, relevant to the type of appointment you have. If it’s a professional office you are visiting, then by all means, dress somewhat professional. You can view these same dresses styled for dressy wear and casual wear.
50’s Maxi Dress: By adding this moto vest, I was trying to take away from the beachiness vibe of this dress.
60’s Maxi Dress: A lightweight cardigan is always a good idea to have in the summer. I find we need it more for the inside of building, than the outside.
70’s Maxi Dress: This dress came with a matching cardigan. I added white sandals and accessories to lighten the look.
Thanks and happy reading!! Don’t you think a maxi is a great option?
