The Month of May
If someone asked you what you did this May, what would you say? I think it can be so hard to remember specific days and events when every day goes by in a flash, right? So I joined up with a couple of other bloggers to keep track of the month of May with a sentence and some photos. There’s a link up below if you’d like to see the other’s participating in this project, and a huge thanks for Leslie for organizing us!!
5-1: Best kind of day in my book—didn’t even leave the house, and worked on some photos for the blog.
5-2: We went downtown for blog photos with a substitute for Nancy since she’s in Ireland. Rob got to choose his favorite restaurant, Rioja with their signature Artichoke Tortellini
5-3: Since we are leaving next week, we decided to squeeze in the photo shoot today with a different substitute for Nancy.
5-6: Today was trying on outfits that I wanted to pack for going to the upcoming Blogging Convention. I discussed my packing tips last winter when I presented a talk about this subject.
5-7: One of those great stay at home days with lots of blogging along with the fact, I finally finished my hand knitted sweater. You can see that it’s not quite a perfect fit, but I think once I wash it, it’ll be better. And shhhhh….don’t tell, but I messed up the pattern. The cables are supposed to alternated instead of those middle two being on top of each other.
5-8: A visit to my good friend, Linda who is also my aesthetician. I’ve been seeing her on a regular basis for over 10 years now. I’m still getting wrinkles, but at least my skin has been healthy.
5-9: After a fun knitting day, we hopped on a plane to Utah, for our Food Blogging Conference.
5-10: The first day of the conference was amazing. Kroger had this oasis area to take photos, get tons of healthy snacks, and even get a chair massage. PS….you can see that I wore my mint suit that was showcased in our blog post recently.
5-11: If you are a blogger, I can’t tell you how much this conference was not only educational but also inspirational. On the other hand, I feel like I’ve been doing everything wrong for the last 3 years! Eeeeek!
5-12: I’m sure it’s no surprise that we were fed well at the Everything Food Conference! On top of that, I met the most delightful food blogger, Wendi. Seriously, her writing is just like talking to her, and her recipes are the ones you’ll use over and over!
5-13: I don’t know about you, but I need a day to recoup after travelling. At least I unpacked today, but laundry will have to wait!
5-14: Rob and I finally got off our bums and tried out a stretching class at the nearby recreational center. Hopefully we will go regularly, and my mom may even join us.
5-15: Yay for a package from thredUp! I had some credit from sending in a clean out bag. Two of the items are designer brands, and you’ll be seeing them soon in upcoming blog posts.
5-16: I was so lucky to be able to meet up with a blog reader, Linda who was out visiting her sister in Denver!
5-17: Blog photo day and Nancy was with us today….Yay!!
5-18: One of those fabulous stay at home days where we didn’t leave the house, but it was pretty productive.
5-19: After the food conference and getting a ton of samples and mixes, we decided to make breakfast special. We made waffle with this Kodiak mix (and my mother’s ancient waffle iron) and were pleasantly surprised.
5-20: Nancy, mom, Rob and I celebrated Mother’s Day (a week late because of our crazy schedules) and then traveled up to Boulder for our cousin’s high school graduation. The best part was comparing how graduation parties have changed over the years.
5-21: Would you be shocked to know that I didn’t get out of my jammies all day?? Is that grounds for firing a fashion blogger??
5-22: Errand day including hanging out with mom!
5-23: A wonderful evening with my book club enjoying this incredible dessert (among other yummies)!
5-24: I love how my hubby even wears a “dapper” outfit while we are out for a photo shoot!! Of course, maybe that’s because we then go out to eat afterwards?? LOL!
5-25: Every couple of years we go over to mom’s house and clean the top of her kitchen cabinets? How about you? How often do you do this at your house?
5-26: Today was spent over at Nancy’s house trying to figure out which pieces she is going to take with her to her new house, and which items to donate. Like those of you who have moved recently, you know what a stressful time this can be.
5-27: I had a migraine which interrupted our plans today. Oh well, I guess we can run errands tomorrow.
5-28: Happy Memorial day!! It was a glorious day full of love because my mom made my hubby a pie since we cleaned off her kitchen cabinets (he guilted her into it…ha ha)
5-29: We’ve been getting off our butts once a week, to attend a stretching class along with my mom!! Moving our bodies is a good thing, right?
5-30: We are starting a kindness project with our Forever Fierce Facebook group. We feel like kindness is something we all need every day, so I hope you’ll join the group and show how women can be kind to one another!
5-31: Blog photo day, and we are starting to get out in the mornings now. It’ll be cooler for the summer, and isn’t this view from Red Rocks just amazing?
If you’ve been joining in on keeping track of your month of May with a sentence a day, then we’d love to have you join in with this link up! Or why don’t you start for next month? Feel free to email me to let me know you want to join the fun!
