Popular Western Skirts To Wear With Boots For Ageless Style

I appreciate each and every share. Thank you!

For our Ageless style group, Leslie came up with the prompt “Southwestern.” I took it and decided to narrow it down with the idea of western skirts to wear with boots.
What I really wanted to showcase was that just because you have a Western type of skirt, doesn’t mean the whole outfit has to look like a cowgirl costume.

Quote of the day: “Now is no time to think of what you do not have. Think of what you can do with what there is.” Ernest Hemingway

I remember when some of the tiered skirts were being shown at the stores last year, and there were comments that we were living in the “Little House on the Prairie” time period. But I have to admit, that the silhouette of these skirts is advantageous for many reasons.

For instance, I love the longer midi skirts because they are easier to sit and move around in. Plus the flowyness is nicer when the weather is warm because it gives you wonderful air circulation.

And since the fall season is upon us, I thought it would be appropriate to think about styling western skirts to wear with boots. Each of us wore ankle boots yet they are all different varieties of ankle boots. Also, your tall boots would work great with these same western skirts.

We’ve showcased other outfits with a somewhat Western theme if you are looking for more inspiration.

Valerie-Print Crinkle Skirt

Woman over 60 in western skirts to wear with boots
Skirt: Philosophy Republic Clothing~~ Jacket: Live a Little~~ Top: Ann Taylor ~~ Boots: Impo~~ Purse: no label

In Valerie’s words: “I chose a colorful crinkle pleated skirt to wear with my black suede ankle boots and added a red jean jacket over a plain white top, which I shortened by threading the hem through a turquoise ring. A turquoise beaded necklace, silver snake earrings, and vintage tooled leather handbag completed the look and added a touch of Southwestern flair.”

I love how Valerie used the term flair. To me, that’s exactly the idea when we incorporate a style into our looks. We don’t have to dress head to toe in that style but we can add it as a flair to the look.
In fact, this print crinkle skirt is one that you could easily make more casual with a graphic t-shirt and sneakers, or on the other end of the spectrum, you could dress it up with a sequin top and heels.

Charlotte-Fringed Suede Skirt

Skirt: no label, DIY to fringe~~ Top: Faded Glory-thrifted~~ Boots: no label-DSW ~~ Belt: thrifted~~ Earrings: thrifted~~ Purse: Vince Camuto-thrifted~~Socks: Sheec

My mom has gotten a ton of wear out of this skirt since I created the fringe on it. This was one of those super easy DIYs, that I did years and years ago (tutorial here).
Since Charlotte tends to stick with one style in an outfit, she kept the Southwestern theme going by pairing her white cowboy ankle boots with the skirt.

And even if you don’t tend to tuck your tops, sometimes with these longer skirts, it can be a better look. Adding a belt like Charlotte did is a nice way to separate the two pieces intentionally and actually help your waist.

Jodie-Denim Tiered Skirt

Skirt: eShakti Use my link for $50 off~~ Top: Lucy Paris ~~ Boots: Ccocci- Goodwill~~ Necklace: It was my Aunt Nancy’s~~ Earrings: Sally Hoffman Designs~~ Purse: Myra Bag~~Socks: Sheec Mule version ~~Glasses: Jim Halo “Joel”

This denim tiered skirt has been a favorite of mine ever since I purchased it from eShakti. In fact, I showcased different tops to give different proportions with it last year. Any denim skirt could be considered part of the western skirt theme, and I love all the varieties.

Insider discount: Your first purchase from eShakti is an incredible deal with my link that gives you $50 off. Even without my link, the majority of items are under $100 PLUS you can customize the measurements (an extra cost but a lot less than alterations). The only bad thing about the site is there are so many choices that you need lots of time to look it over.

Today, I wanted to show western skirts to wear with boots yet with a modern top. This top is faux leather and I like how the peplum copies the silhouette of the tiered skirt.

I also paired it with mule booties and even wore my mule Sheec socks to make them be more comfortable.

Welcome to the Ageless Style group. We all have very different styles, so I hope you check out their versions of Southwest. The other women’s ideas are probably very varied and not about western skirts to wear with boots, yet we all get so much inspiration from each other.
And we don’t all post at the same time, so make sure to check back if their post isn’t up yet.
