Print Top for the 50’s, 60’s, & 70’s: The Dressy Version

We were gifted these shirts from NewChic, but I was not paid for writing my posts. All of our feelings are honest and true!

Quote of the day: “A friend is a gift you give yourself.” Robert Louis Stevenson

The same print blouses that we styled for casual (here) and then for a work environment (here), now gets gussied up for a fancier event. You may not consider a print blouse as a dressy item, but I think that it can be changed depending on what you pair it with and of course taking into account where you are going. I incorporated some variety in our outfits by having mom wear pants, Nancy wear a skirt and I wore shorts—(sequined ones at that–crazy, I know)! At the end of each post NewChic offers a discount for my readers and I include some feedback of the items!

70’s Outfit: Here’s mom’s shirt worn like a jacket (see the reason below). Since most of us older women think of pearls as dressy—I used them to add fanciness to this look.

Pants: Charter Club (similar here)~~Blouse: Liva Girl (here)~~Top Under: (similar here)~~Boots: Donald J. Pliner(similar here)~~Necklace: (similar here)~~Earrings: (similar here)

Review of the 70’s model’s shirt: Mom’s shirt was 2 sizes too small even though I went by the measurements on the website. That is why you’ll notice she always has it open or under another clothing item. Due to this, after the pictures, it got relegated to me (yippee!!). And, I love this blouse! It’s somewhat shiny and doesn’t wrinkle and the colors are so wonderful in my opinion—I’ve worn it 3 times already and it washes like a dream. I feel like the quality is superb for such a low cost item. Overall, the site has some fun items for any age group. I think it could be a great option especially if you wanted to try out one of the newer trends (like this open shoulder shirt or this maxi skirt), but didn’t want to spend a lot of money.
