RockFlowerPaper & Giveaway

RockFlowerPaper for Women

RockFlowerPaper & Giveaway

Quote of the day: “History is made by people: Its movement depends on small currents as well as great tides.” Margaret Thatcher

This quote seemed appropriate for the fact that I’d love to introduce you to a small company out of San Francisco called RockFlowerPaper. I know many of us enjoy supporting the small companies either online or locally. This company’s products are so colorful and they are inspired from travels around the world. If you click over to their site, I bet you can see why I thought you might enjoy their offerings. Besides the fact that they have not only clothing but home decor and in addition, almost every item is under $100.

But wait, there’s more (I always love saying that). You can enter below for a scarf like the one my mother is wearing. The company donated an extra one for one of my readers. I’ll have the giveaway available through next Tuesday, Feb 6. There is also a discount for my readers of 15% off your first purchase with the code, JTOUCH15. Now just wait until you see the great products you can get.

RockFlowerPaper for Any aged Women

So let me show you a small sampling of Rockflowerpaper’s items. Both Nancy & I were quite amused that we got to turn my mom around to showcase her scarf! Since many times my mom is talking during our photos, this let her talk away and not create any funny looking faces on her part.

Jodie’s (50+) Outfit: I decided to give one of Rockflowerpaper’s overnight bags a try.

I have many knitting friends that are always gaga over new bags, but I’m one of those that uses the same one over and over. Because of this, my usual bag is quite worn and wearing out. The overnight bag I received from Rockflowerpaper, is actually very fabulous. I’ll give you some of the wonderful details about it and let you decide for yourself.

FYI, it seems like this exact print isn’t available right now for their overnight bag on their website, but they have many other designs to choose from.

The Details

First I love the fact that it has both an adjustable arm strap and 2 hand straps for carrying. And if it looks as big as me, it kinda is. We laughed that I could probably climb in it.

And the pockets that are on the inside and outside? It made me think I could take it and include all of my knitting projects for my next knitting retreat because there are 3 on the outside and 3 on the inside.

I wanted to really try out and see what I could fit in the bag. In the photo below I’m showing you that my outfit, including ankle boots, is in there along with my toiletries bag, curling iron and makeup bag. This company even has matching travel bags and cosmetic bags that you could put in your overnight bag for men and women.

And let me just point out the fact that if you don’t have a hankering for any specific pattern, there are even a couple of overnight bags in the sale section which is an amazing deal. It could even be a fabulous gift for Valentines or Mother’s Day? Let me also point out this reversible tote. If you happen to see it in an upcoming post, it’s only because I couldn’t resist.

Nancy’s (60+) Outfit: Nancy picked out a print blouse from Rockflowerpaper.

I thought this was a great choice because a button down shirt can be layered so easily under other items along as layering them over other pieces.

RockFlowerPaper and woman over 60 wearing a blouse

This shirt itself is called a boyfriend shirt, and is certainly very roomy. That’s the reason Nancy decided to tie it in the front this way for the photo. The reviews on it also say that it runs big, so if you are interested, I’d size down. But like my mother always says, keep into account that since it’s 100% cotton, it will also probably shrink in the wash. Yet, who doesn’t love an item that is machine washable?

FYI, I don’t think all their shirts are like this, so I’d read the reviews first before you order.

The site also has tunics, poet shirts and sleep shirts available with these fabulous prints. And again, that sale section has some deals that I don’t even think my mom could get the material and make them that inexpensively.

Charlotte’s (80+) Outfit: Since my mother is the hugest lover of scarves, she figured another one would always be appreciated.

This scarf has such a lovely design on it, so my mom wore it two different ways. This first method is done by tying the corners together to create a “sleeve”. Then the scarf acts like a lightweight vest and really showcases the design on the back. In the featured photo at the top of this post, you can see how from the front, when wearing the scarf this way, it’s almost like a kimono. Speaking of kimonos, Rockflowerpaper has some of those too.

Since scarves really can be so versatile, I also had mom just fold it in half and tie it around her shoulders for the second look. This exact scarf is quite lightweight, so can be folded and smushed to be used many different ways.

And don’t you love that my mom paired her brown boots with this outfit? I know she considered her navy boots, but I think it looks even more modern with a non-matching selection.

And you could be the lucky recipient of your own scarf like this. It’s the same color and design that my mom is showing here, except it’s still in it’s plastic. Therefore, you’ll probably have to iron it first, ha ha! Join in the giveaway below to get a chance at winning it.

If you like other varieties of scarves, Rockflowerpaper has those too including neck scarves, infinity scarves and oblong scarves.

I also need to quickly point out that if by chance you are looking for a white, cotton sweater, Macy’s is having an amazing sale here and the one I linked below for the similar one.

  • Happy Friday Jodie, I LOVE That scarf your mom is wearing, and you all look
VERY cute!!! I was wondering if I wanted to do blog giveaways….If I paid Rob, would he be able to set them up for me each time? That darn techy stuff frustrates me and does me in …I let it get to me too much Let me know on a dm or whatever My bday is coming next wknd and I wish I had prepared more to do a giveaway for it…I am going out of town . Have a great wknd my friend xx00x0x0x00x

    • Thanks so much my lovely friend!!!
And I know what you mean about the techy stuff. I found the first time is the worst, but it gets easier each time.
However, I think you are doing the best thing possible for your birthday…it’s nice to treat yourself to something fun and not worry about “work”!
I can’t wait to see your fun trip on IG Stories!!

  • I clicked over to their site and it seems like they have a lot of cute stuff. Fun! You know, my mom talks all through photos too! So she always hates how she looks in pictures because her mouth is in a weird position. She says she doesn’t want to look fake smiling. I said it’s all fake smiling for photos. So funny! Have a great weekend ladies!

    • Your mom and mine would get along fabulously, Julia!!
We are all quite funny I think…LOL!
Enjoy the weekend too!! Thanks for always stopping by!!

  • What a wonderful site! I need to check it out. Dying over your mom’s scarf. The design on the back is gorgeous!

    • Of course, my mom would choose this scarf. I wouldn’t have been smart enough to think of it worn open like that so you could enjoy the pattern!! #momsaresmart!!
      Thanks Kathrine!!

  • donnanance

Such fun stuff…where to start… Jodie, the bag you chose is perfect for lots of uses. Love the print and pockets, pockets, pockets! My mother taught me at an early age to have a handbag with pockets and boy, was she right. Same for a tote like yours. I am going to Texas this month and if I didn’t already have a dandy bag, I’d get one it. Love Nancy’s outfit…she incorporated the print blouse beautifully. Sigh, I still covet her blue booties. Your mom is the Queen of Scarves and the wearing thereof. I like the fact that the scarf she chose is lightweight and agreeable to various incarnations. I guess what draws me to your blog, besides all the fun fashions, is the three of you having a blast together. xoxo

    • You’re going to have such a fun time on your trip this month, Donna!! Getting away is always good for the soul, I think!! This is the time for sales on booties you know? or
And your words just make me smile, Donna. My poor hubby when he’s trying to take our photos and we are all talking and laughing–of course, those tend to be my favorite photos!!
PS…my mom is the queen of collecting almost anything clothing related, LOL. Let’s have a moment of silence for the reality of her only daughter having to go through it all when she kicks the bucket…..

  • It cracked me up when you said that your mom kept talking when her back was to the camera. When my back is to the camera, I still smile! Hahaha
Love all the things you chose from this company. I will definitely have to go check them out and use that discount code of yours!

    • We laugh that my mom keeps yapping when we are together because she lives alone and doesn’t have a chance to use up her 25,000 words otherwise…..LOL!!
      Thanks Darlene!!

  • Mother Daughter

That scarf is great. I am not a scarf person but daughter loves them and wears them all the time. You are right the brown boots were the perfect choice. I am looking for a new bag so I will be checking this site out. Thanks Jodie.

    • I never wore scarves until this whole blogging thing, but I think I finally got the hang of them. Now i kinda realize what all the hoopla is about…LOL!
I really think you’ll enjoy this site, Victoria….I’m going to have to get a new cosmetic travel bag since it’s way prettier yet the same cost as the Container Store.
      Have a great weekend!!

  • You ladies are just so cute! I love all your outfits and I love how much fun you always seem to be having! Happy Friday Jodie! Cheryl

    • Thanks Cheryl!
It’s good we get along so well, because life is too short for nastiness…

  • Sarah

I LOVE the scarf your mom is wearing! And what beautiful patterns on the tunics on their website!

    • It’s their prints that are just so delightful, don’t you think Sarah? I mean that’s their whole premise, so I guess it makes sense!!
But it’s definitely a sight for eye candy galore!!
      Have a wonderful weekend!!

  • You ladies are my favorite crew to see picture of! I love all of the smiles and the pretty bright colors. I hope you all have the best weekend! Sierra~Beautifully Candid

    • What a nice comment to read, Sierra! I hope we give you hope that getting old isn’t a bad thing!!
      Have a great weekend!!

  • Jessica Broyles

Loving these looks, and that pretty pink wall you guys found!

    • Isn’t it fun when you find a great wall to pose in front of, Jessica??
      Thanks and happy weekend!!

  • You are all so cute! You know me, I WON’T be participating in any contest for a scarf…but then again, it would make a great gift for anyone else but me!

    • That truly made me laugh, Jennifer. But you know Mother’s Day is right around the corner…ha ha!!

  • Eileen Flanigan Sinda

Loved everything. The bag would be super for an overnight away, traveling, or like you said craft supplies. Nancy looked adorable in that shirt. Loved Mom’s scarf. Once again great job!

    • Thanks Eileen!!
I had to laugh when my mom chose a scarf since she has at least a hundred others. But at least she wears them, and this one is quite lovely with that design on the back!!!
      Have a fantastic weekend…

  • Kellyann

Thanks for sharing this sweet business with us, love the items you all styled! Great overnight bag – so roomy and the scarf is fabulous! How cute is Nancy with that shirt tied at the waist? Seriously you ladies nailed it!
And the colorful back drops – ugh, my pictures are always taken on our street! My husband thinks he’s so funny calling me a street walker – haha. One of these days I’ll get proper photos!

    • That totally made me laugh Kellyann….your husband has the same kind of humor mine does!!
We were actually at a jazz brunch on a Sunday, so we took advantage of the fun area!!

  • Bev @ Walking Well With God

Love the patterns on the bag, blouse, and scarf/shawl….very pretty!!
Blessings and have a good weekend,
    Bev xo

    • Thanks so much Bev. The company really does have such lovely prints!!
      Enjoy the fabulous weekend…

  • Good Morning ☀️

It’s a very cold day here with a fresh coat of snow…but I’m heading right over to rfp’s website to check out more of their bright sunny prints… Sounds like this shop is right up my alley!

    • Make sure to check out some of those fabulous sales, Em!! Even my husband said I should get another cosmetic case for travelling, because mine has ripped and it was the same price at the Container Store—so why not have a pretty one??
Enjoy your weekend and the snow!! It’s supposed to be 60 degrees here today which is laughable!!

  • Suzanne

I recently started following your blog and it has become one I look forward to. Keep it up!

    • Oh, Suzanne. You don’t know how wonderful that makes me feel! Thanks for such a positive comment this morning, and please, please, spread the word!!
