Shoes for All Walks of Life: Focus From Dress Up to Casual
Finding shoes for all walks of life and making them versatile has been something I’ve been passionate about lately. It’s one of the reasons I’ve searched out so many comfortable footwear brands. Walking Cradles is one of those brands I have been working with for almost 3 years now. One advantage to this company is not only the comfort but the wide range of sizes and kinds of footwear.
Quote of the day: “Troubles are often the tools by which God fashions us for better things.” Henry Ward Beecher
I’m writing this post today to correlate with a Walking Cradles series called “Shoes for All Walks of Life” on their own blog to celebrate women. Part of this is because Walking Cradles is a woman-driven company, and they want women to know that their busy lives are making a difference in this world – and that does not need to be done in uncomfortable footwear! And the fact that Walking Cradles has more to offer than just one type of footwear. They have shoes for every walk of life!!
If you are interested, you can read more about my thoughts on the Walking Cradles blog that will go live sometime today.
This post is not sponsored in the fact that I was not paid to write this article. I was gifted these shoes to showcase and because I am an ambassador for the company, I usually receive a commission if you purchase from their site through my link. Because of this series, they are offering a one time discount for 25% off with the code: AllWalks25!! Make sure to go through my link and then apply this at checkout.
While I do appreciate you supporting the small businesses that I love, I also hope to push you outside the box in how you categorize and wear the shoes you have or want.
So I’m here to not just showcase some of these fabulous styles on Walking Cradles site right now, but also show them in both a dressed up outfit and casual outfit….for both styles of shoes.
Walking Cradles Sloan Pumps
Most of us think of a heel as part of our dress up outfit, and that makes sense. Yet while I would wear either of these outfits for date night, I wanted to show the shoes with pants or a dress.
The Sloan comes in this leopard version and also an all black version (which is a combo of suede and leather). The 2.5 inch heel makes it very comfortable (at least for me) and the d’orsay design on the side makes them very sexy!!
For the date night above, I paired them with black pants since that’s a popular option for most women. I prefer an ankle length pant to be able to show off the fabulous shoes!
Since leopard is a mixture of neutrals, I wore a bright colored sweater (which you just saw in my high fashion inspiration post) for some color. And then threw on a white cropped trench coat.
For the outfit below, I was off to a doctor’s appointment so I wanted to keep the look somewhat professional. Yet I still try to add in a bit of fun personality, so I thought the mix of prints would work.
Review of these Sloan Pumps
It’s no secret I am a huge fan of all of the Walking Cradles shoes and they are the ones I gravitate towards when we go out exploring or on tours. These pumps are as comfortable for walking (maybe not miles but definitely more than for just sitting) because of the heel width and height along with the tiny pillows that are in the soles.
The only drawback I can see with these shoes (which will not stop me from wearing them) is I can’t really wear my Sheec no show socks with them because of the d’orsay cut out. I had them on with the outfit below and since my Sheec socks are nude, you could see them slightly when I was sitting down with my legs crossed. Maybe if I had a black pair of Sheec socks, it would have matched to the black sole of the shoe.
Sneakers for All Walks of Life
These sneakers are the ever popular Walking Cradles Orleans in tie dye for the spring season. I have these sneakers in 6 different prints now. They are that comfy and versatile. This is not the first time I’ve shown how this style of sneaker could work in many situations. In fact, a friend and I wore them working out to lunch and then a dinner date. Gail had the snakeskin pair and I wore the olive green pair.
So here I am wearing them with a more casual outfit and then below these photos with a dress. I consider them versatile because instead of categorizing them as sneakers per se, they are basically like a loafer shoe.
BTW, I think this tie dye version is more vibrant than how it appears on the Walking Cradles website. These also are available in 12 different options on their site right now. There’s even a denim with some embroidery, a leopard print along with a tiger print too!! Don’t worry, there are some solid colored ones and even some perforated ones.
Why are these so comfortable?
The Orleans have been such a best seller for Walking Cradles because of how they are made. Most of us can attest that some flat shoes are too flat. But these have some arch support (not as much as the Metro+ collection) but much more than the Converse sneakers I have. They have great traction on the bottom, and then maybe you can see the heel? The heel has this padding in it which I think helps so much.
Of course all Walking Cradles shoes have the tiny pillows in the insoles that give them padding.
I truly can’t come up with a drawback to these shoes. At first I wasn’t sure I would love the tie dye print, but these are the colors I gravitate towards in spring, so I’ve worn them more than I thought I would. In fact, you can see how they were in my basic outfit for showcasing different styles of jean jackets in an Instagram video.
Small Business Love
I work and collaborate for Walking Cradles for a couple of reasons. One is because they have a fabulous product. These are shoes I really wear for my day to day activities (not just for the blog).
But also this company is part of my push to support our smaller businesses which is something I used to be as a cosmetic dentist. This company has heart and soul.
How do I know this? I’ve met many of the people when I was one of the models for their spring fashion show (post here). And while it’s impossible to know if a pair of shoes will work for your specific feet, my contact is ALWAYS happy to try to answer your questions if you ever have any.
BTW, I do have a 15% off code (JODIE15) for your first purchase, unless there is a better sale going on. This code is always listed in the tab on my site under Shopping Links if you ever need it). If you ever decide to purchase through their site, I appreciate you going through my link. It shows the company that blogger marketing does work.
Yet, did you know that some stores are carrying Walking Cradles now, at least online? I’ve seen them at Macy’s online as well as Zappos.
AND, they have a site for all final sales shoes.
So if you haven’t tried them yet, I hope you give them a go. If you sign up for their emails, you get advance notice of the sales too!
Thank you for visiting my space on the internet. I like to showcase how it’s never too late to look great for women of any age, size or working with any budget.
I feel I’m here to help move beyond the fashion rules of yesterday and evolve. Style and clothes are made to give you joy. Not cause us stress because we are worried about what other’s think.
My hope is that you get ideas and inspirations from these kinds of posts. It’s not about copying what we wear, but about using what you already have and updating items along the way.
Most of all it’s getting us to think differently and dare I say, have fun?
DID YOU KNOW?
Did you know that the text that shows up in a different color is usually a link to either another post, another site or a product? Some of these links are affiliate links. Meaning, if you click a link and make a purchase, Jodie’s Touch of Style gets a small commission at no extra cost to you. I do appreciate you supporting the brands that make this blog possible!
