Styling a Jean Skirt Fall Outfit

A jean skirt fall outfit is one of those that can be very classic. We all know and love denim and it comes in every style and item imaginable. Of course, you’d call it versatile.

Quote of the day: “All cases are unique and very similar to others.” T.S. Eliot

While you may see jean skirt fall outfits lots of places, they can be so different depending on what you pair with them.

This outfit is thanks to National just like my outfit with my palazzo pants. This is a sponsored post which also means you can get 20% off your order with the code Natl20jodie. And while some of National’s items seem warm weather appropriate, I think that’s how it is for the fall season for many of us. It’s that layering thing that takes us from the cooler mornings to the warmer afternoons.

You will see this same jacket styled differently on Lesley. And don’t forget to check out the home we toured in these outfits. We learned more than just about the architecture.

Charlotte’s Jean Skirt Fall Outfit

Jean skirt fall outfit for any woman

Like I mentioned, denim is something we can find in every variation anymore. So styling a jean skirt fall outfit seems easy. It’s a piece of clothing that will transition to winter nicely with a pair of boots too. Shockingly, Charlotte didn’t have a jean skirt in her closet, so she was happy to get this one.

It’s nice because this denim skirt is a longer length that my mom feels more comfortable wearing. You can’t see the cool pockets with the top over it, but you should check them out on National’s website. And like many of their items, it’s available in petites and plus sizes.

This same skirt was styled for another day, and Charlotte just rolled up the waistband to shorten it.

Accessories

My mom’s complexion is like mine, and looks better with gold versus silver. Yet, I think she’s counteracted the silver earrings nicely with the burgundy in the necklace and especially with this teal hat.

It’s not like you see a ton of women wearing hats anymore. We’ve styled them on the blog in the past. And I have come to love them dearly. Personally, they save me from stressing over a bad hair day (which is many days with my curls).

In fact, I just contributed to a piece about hat etiquette lately. While many people still are in the habit to take off their hats for certain times, I almost think this hat would be one you could keep on. This is one hat that isn’t so overpowering, and it comes in 4 other colors. I like how it adds some color to my mom’s face since her hair is white.

The Top

This printed tee was both my mom’s and Lesley’s choice to style for these outfits. Lesley went ahead and ended up choosing something else, but you can see why it’s a great option. It has so many colors in it, that it will go with so much in anyone’s closet. It comes in a couple of different prints/color and is available in petites and plus sizes.

For those of you who “know” my mother, she wanted to make this top a better fit for her. The top is made by Alfred Dunner®. As with Alfred Dunner® tops running a bit boxy for a more relaxed fit, my mom chose to alter hers a tad, for a more tailored fit. So she took in the sides about an inch. What a pro!

Shoes

I had purchased these shoes for both mom and Nancy a couple of years ago. As a shoe person, I think having modern and fun shoes just makes an outfit oh, so much better.

When we styled these lace up shoes, it was back in the day we wore them as a casual, dress up and a smart version. Granted, I don’t see this style as much anymore, but I still think they add a bit of modern edge to my mom’s outfit. In fact, she was complimented on them this very day!

Raspberry Colored Jacket

This raspberry color may seem more summer appropriate. Yet it’s been spotted in another woman’s retail store lately. So it’s right on trend. You’ll get another look at this jacket on Lesley too, so you can see it in different sizes.

The material of this jacket is a stretch ponte knit, so it’s like the knit blazer that I showcased in the fall trends post. My mom chose this one because of the lovely color and especially because of the ruffle. I think the ruffle is a great way to feminize what can otherwise seem basic.

Even though my mom isn’t usually gaga over pockets, she did mention that it’d be perfect for traveling because of the practicality of it having so many pockets in it.
