Styling an All Pink Look with Different Shades of Pink

Styling an all pink look comes naturally to my mom. And maybe to many of you from her generation. I know when I try to push her to NOT match items in her outfit, it gives her the heebie geebies.

Quote of the day: “I believe finally, that education must be conceived as a continuing reconstruction of experience; that the process and the goal of education are one and the same thing.” John Dewey

So I chose this quote because as my mom and I were talking about this outfit after it’d been photographed, we came to the conclusion, it wasn’t her best outfit ever. Yet, this happens to all of us. However, not all of us have our looks showcased over the internet for posterity sake.

Yet I think taking a photo (even a selfie in the mirror) can give us a different perspective of our looks than just the mirror. Maybe you’ve seen my daily OOTD (Outfit Of The Day) in my Facebook and Instagram Stories? There have been a couple of times that I take the photo and then go change out an item….AND THEN take another photo and post it. It’s always amazing to me how the camera can see things SO differently.

You will also be able to see how Lesley wore a bright pink, I wore a muted pink, and then lots of other color combinations from previous blog posts.

Charlotte’s All Pink Look

Adding color to light pink

The theme for the week is all about wearing pink. It’s not the first time we’ve worn pink in the fall on the blog. In fact, now that October is breast cancer awareness month, I feel like we see pink in all kinds of ways.

Accessories

Even if this outfit isn’t our collective favorite, there are certainly parts of it that really stand out and look great. For instance this bracelet is one that adds a modern detail. It was from our favorite boutique in Littleton called Trendz n Trinkets. The fringe details says young and fun, don’t you think?

The other detail that cracks me up is my mom’s purse. She’s worn it other times on the blog. The reason it cracks me up is that it’s from a gift shop. A hospital gift shop no less. My mother can find the best treasures at the most interesting places.

Adding a Scarf for Interest

Pinks and purple

This scarf was gifted to my mom when we worked with a woman I “met” on Instagram. Kristin is no longer making these items, yet my mom does love a great scarf. Especially because they are so versatile, and it’s adding some print to this outfit.

You might even laugh when you see the three of us together. You might have thought I asked for us to all wear scarves. But I didn’t. It’s just that concept of birds of a feather….

Booties for Fall

Burgundy booties

I do think that fall makes most of us enjoy pulling out our boots and booties. My mom loves this pair for a couple of reasons. One, they are a wonderful color, and two they have a low heel. You can see them in better detail when the three of us wore them together.

Jambu doesn’t have this exact style this season, but I do have a discount code. Use JTOUCHF19 for 20% off their site. You’ll see more of their 2019 fall booties next week too!

Sweater Coat

Long cardigan for women

This is one of those cardigans that will probably get a lot more use in Arizona with the shorter sleeves. When my mom was gifted this piece, I styled it two other different ways. I think it would also look great over a dress, especially a more form fitted dress. Maybe I’ll get my mom to try that next.
