Outfits for a Summer Evening Wedding
Quote of the day: “The best way to be missed when you’re gone is to stand for something when you’re here.” Seth Godin
Now here’s a fabulous opportunity to really get gussied up and look great (while enjoying wedding cake!). Of course everyone’s definition of what is appropriate for an evening wedding is different. Indubitably, one must take into account what the invitation states as it’s dress code.
Since times have gotten more casual over the years, I didn’t pull out the full length formals for this post. If you missed the previous installments, I gave examples for the outdoor wedding and daytime wedding.
50’s Summer Wedding: When I wear this dress I put it on backwards (on purpose). The front is cut quite a bit lower, so I tend to wear it more this way! I actually wore it this last weekend to our nephew’s wedding in Connecticut, only with a yellow belt and a different necklace.

60’s Summer Wedding: And isn’t this dress a stunner? When Nancy tried this on at the store, I knew it was a winner! The shawl is only needed to cover up in the cool evening air as she goes to and from the venue!
Dress: Evan Picone (here)~~Shoes: Gianni Bini (similar here)~~Wrap: (similar here)~~Necklace: (similar here)~~Bracelet: (similar here)~~Earrings: (similar here)
70’s Summer Wedding: I guess mom and Nancy almost look like twins for this post. I didn’t even realize I was styling them so similar until I was putting the pictures together. It must be because blue is a great color and a shawl is a wonderful accessory!
