Tunic 5: The Winter Version for Dress Up

The Winter Tunic for the 50’s, 60’s, & 70’s: The Dressy Version

Tunics for winter for the 50's, 60's, & 70's age groups.

Quote of the day: “We are limited, not by our abilities, but by our vision.” Anonymous

For the second in our series of the winterized tunic (the three of us wore summer tunics starting here), I wanted to see if we could dress them up a little bit. Depending on the length of your tunic, you could certainly wear it like a dress (that’s what I did and added my OTK boots). Otherwise the other options are slipping a skirt under it (like Nancy did) or even a pair of pants (that’s mom’s picture). We took these exact same pieces and wore them with our leggings here.

50’s Tunic: I had to conduct some “research” for the blog the other day, and thus found a new boutique in town. It’s called Fab’rik and I brought home this white fuzzy cardigan/coat that, of course, was on sale!

60’s Tunic: The leather skirt is a new addition to Nancy’s closet thanks to my mom. We’re doing an entire series on the subject next week!

      Thanks Rena!!

  • Oh, I just love that photo of your mom – too Cute! I also really enjoyed her look, as tunics and pants are my favorite. I have very few tunics in my wardrobe and would love to add more. Nancy’s asymmetrical hem and bold pattern are so fun with the leather skirt. Great texture, colors and length on yours, Jodie. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

    • Jodie Filogomo

Funny…I only have this one tunic for winter at least. I was just thinking maybe I should get another!! Thanks for reading Jennie!!

  • Love these looks!!!!

    • Jodie Filogomo

      Thanks Jaymie!

  • sue

I love this look and although we are coming to the end of Summer where I live, I can see myself wearing this in a few months. Stopping by from Midlife Bloggers Assoc FB group.

    • Jodie Filogomo

      Thanks for reading Sue!

  • Happinessatmidlife

I don’t own too many tunics but I love all 3 of the looks and how different they are!

Thank you for being a part of TBT Fashion link up and hope to see you soon!

    • Jodie Filogomo

I’m like you….this is my only winter tunic. I like it, but it’s probably not my most favorite piece in my closet! At least I have some ideas of how to wear it now….after agonizing over these outfits for hours!!

  • Thanks for linking up to Top of the World Style.

  • SheelaGoh

I love your interpretation, Jodie, it’s something I would personally wear in a heartbeat 🙂

    p/s I heart your mum!!!

    • Jodie Filogomo

      Thanks Sheela!!

  • Alana Mautone

I love it. I’ve actually thought of going into Forever 21 and being stared at, just for the sheer joy of it. But their tunic, and the Target tunic, are just my style!

    • Jodie Filogomo

You wouldn’t be stared at Alana!! Your money spends as good as anyone elses and besides, there’s no age limit at any store! (truth be known, I used to think the same thing, but once I started blogging, I realized how silly I was being!—there are some good deals at those stores!!)

  • doreenmcgettigan

I love that fuzzy sweater, in fact I love all of these looks especially the sixties look. Love the skirt!

    • Jodie Filogomo

      Thanks Doreen!!

  • All you ladies are so stylish! It’s good to see style can be achieved at any age!

    • Jodie Filogomo

You speak truth Adri—it does take some thought & time, but really that’s fact for any age group!!

  • Versatilestylebytracey

You all three look so vibrant and happy in your photos. I was immediately drawn to Nancy’s look, which is fabulously styled! That’s not surprising as I am more fond of colors than neutrals, but great to see three such varied looks. Love your new sweater!

    • Jodie Filogomo

      Thanks Tracey!!

  • Anna Parkes

Jodie, I know we’re talking tunics today, but I have to digress for a moment to say Wow at your OTK boots! Loving these baby x Nancy’s tunic gets my vote thanks to the black and red colour way – it really suits her.

    • Jodie Filogomo

Hey…we can digress anytime Anna!!! I am surprised how much I really love my OTK boots, considering a year ago I thought “never”!!
As for Nancy’s tunic–it is wonderful, eh?

  • PetiteOver40

All three of you look so beautiful in your dressy tunics! I think Nancy’s look is my favorite of the three, but I adore your fuzzy cardigan! Plus, the look on your mom’s face is just priceless. What a beautiful smile! It’s always an inspiring day when I see one of your posts pop up in my newsfeeds!

    • Jodie Filogomo

Well really you have to thank Nancy for this series of posts as she said I never pick this tunic of hers to wear in our pictures! So…ta da!! You’re such a dear!!

  • love seeing your ladies cute outfits and posts!

    • Jodie Filogomo

Thanks Kelsey—Just trying to keep up with you & your husband!!

  • Jodie, your layered look is right up my street.
I love your mix of textures….the gold top is fab and those OTK boots! Hello!!
    Great look.
P.S. I love the shots of Nancy and your Mum too…you look like you are having so much fun!

    • Jodie Filogomo

We do have fun Samantha!! I mean, why not, right?
Thanks for always being so wonderfully supportive (anytime that saying comes up, I always think “bra”—ha ha)

  • You three are the cutest ever!! I love the texture you have going on in all the looks. Very cool!

    • Jodie Filogomo

Thanks Darlene!! Great eye…I didn’t even think about all the different textures!!

  • Carrie @ Curly Crafty Mom

That white fuzzy cardi is so pretty, especially the necklace with it! I really like the leather skirt + tunic. I keep shying away from buying a leather skirt, but need to! And, your mom is too cute she is doing great with her fashion poses!!! 🙂

    • Jodie Filogomo

Thanks Carrie—it’s funny how we tend to always stand the same way—so trying out new poses can be fun or dangerous–ha ha!!
