A Vest & Fun Shirt for My Husband

Maybe you think that fun shirts aren’t appropriate for men over a certain age? But when we found this shirt with converse sneakers on it over 5 years ago, I knew Rob needed it. Not because he has a pair of converse sneakers. And not because he even likes the shoes that much! But because it’s whimsical and fun! And who doesn’t need a little fun in their lives?
When I met my husband around 14 years ago, he had nothing like this outfit in his closet. His wardrobe consisted of tan pants and those boring, small print work shirts. Not that that fact stopped me from loving him and marrying him, but I just love the fact that he is way more adventuresome in his wardrobe choices now! Of course, there’s an occasional nudge from me at times, but he’s grown exponentially in his style!
Rob’s Outfit: Take this vest for example. Back when we were working at my dental office, we’d visit this men’s boutique when we were done with our hair appointments. The sales associate suggested this vest to Rob, and he decided to try it!
It’s been one of Rob’s go-to vest choices ever since. Even though the weather is warming up during the day, most mornings tend to be chilly, and so Rob will throw on his vest for a little warmth! Now I’m not sure all men love vests, but in case you know one who does, this reversible one is a great choice! Of course, if you love a fantastic deal as much as I do, then you have to check out this one!
But it’s the shirt that gets me every time he wears it. Having little converse sneakers strewn across a manly shirt just cracks me up!!
Now you know there is no way I’ll be able to find a shirt like this. But let’s say how surprised I am at what I did find on my shopping site. Maybe someone living in Maine would love this one? Or a diving enthusiast could deep down be hoping you’ll buy them this shirt? I’m not even sure that Rob would be open to wearing this one, but really these prints seem more manly than flowers, right?
And it’s only this year that we bought Rob these grey jeans!! It seems like such a obvious choice for a color of jeans for guys! A little more variety than just denim or black, but not as crazy as the mint green ones that Rob wore, here!
Sometimes I think guy’s fashion has to start with the women’s fashion. We’ve been showcasing grey a ton in the last couple of years, so it’s high time that the guys started wearing it too! Grey jeans are a dime a dozen—okay, so not maybe that available. But I found many pairs under $100, like these and these. I’d say that last pair are Rob’s jeans except his look darker than what they are showing on the Gap’s website right now.
And I can’t forget Rob’s footwear! He wore his boots this particular day because it was still somewhat cooler, but I know many guys have put their boots away for the season. Therefore let me introduce you to some charcoal colored sneakers, here or a pair of normal shoes, here!
