Wearing Spring Colors Together and the Ageless Style Link Up
Quote of the day: ” Life is a little bit like a garden-you have to find time to plant the seeds for beautiful flowers to grow.” Oscar de la Renta
The whole idea behind the spring colors for this week, was due to Kellyann from our Ageless Style group. Her idea was to style the color either pressed rose or living coral from Pantone’s Spring colors selection.
While I had my mom concentrate on the pressed rose color in the last post, I decided to incorporate both colors together. And then Nancy wore living color with a jean jacket. Or check out how we wore these colors in the past.

Jodie’s Spring Colors for Spring
While many women shy away from color, I’m sure by now you realize that I’m not one of those women. Yet, I still want you to be able to get inspiration from some of my outfits. Therefore, I added my black jeans to the two featured colors on top.
I found this purse when we went shopping at a consignment store for the blog post about what to wear thrifting. While you could almost call it a tote because it’s pretty big, it’s one of those pieces I wear more than I thought I would.
I know Nancy ends up wearing her floral purse tons too, and I think it’s because there are so many colors in it to go with different outfits. If you hate florals, then you can always find a print purse that is fabulous because of all the colors in it.
And then this huge necklace. It’s definitely a statement piece and one I wear when I want to be crazy. I love that it has so many colors in it so it goes with so much. Just like the purse.
Black Glitter Sneakers
I know most people consider black shoes as their go to footwear. But honestly I’m not usually in that category. However, when I saw these glitter sneakers, I was hooked.
Yes, I was gifted these sneakers from Walking Cradles. I’ll be going out to their Shoextravaganza next week to work with the company too. Yet this is a style I would buy in a nanosecond.
The three of us worked with Walking Cradles last year on the blog. And we even wore them on our Alaska cruise for many of our excursions. These are shoes that hit that comfort factor while still having style.
I even thought I’d showcase them on YouTube with different ways to wear black sneakers. Notice the pillows of air inside the shoe. That’s exactly one reason they are great for walking.
If you’re in the market for some comfortable shoes, then make sure to use the code Style15 for 15% off. They even have narrow, wide and wide wide in most of their styles, along with sizing up to a 13.
My coral jacket is one that I would totally have worn when I was working. However, I didn’t find it until I was retired. I feel like it’s still casual enough for most normal days yet could be worn for a professional appointment.
I used to shy away from 3/4 length sleeves in the winter but that changed after watching Madam Secretary. The character use to wear long sleeves under a 3/4 sleeve items a lot, and if she can, then I can. That being said, I did roll up the sleeves of my sweater under the jacket just a little.
Coated jeans are one of the best things since sliced bread if you own furry pets. Seriously, these don’t attract pet hair like many of my other pants.
Sure, they look like leather, and that could be a put off for some of you. But just try a pair, and you’ll see what I mean.
Now my initial thought was to wear this jacket over a pink top. But I couldn’t really find a top that fit the description of pressed rose in my closet. So I got creative.
So I wore one of my cardigans backwards. While we’ve experimented with this on the blog before, I’m not always good about doing it often. It’s another reason I wore such a big necklace. The only disadvantage to wearing a sweater backwards like this, is it can bunch up a little around the neck. And the label. If the label shows, my mom thinks to move it to a side seam. Me? I just cut it out.
If you want to see the cardigan when I wore it the normal way, it was in our pink and grey post. One of the secrets when turning it around like this is to button it up first, then pull it over your head like a normal sweater.

Our co-host for the month is Kim from Fierce Fashion. I’ve been following Kim awhile now and even nominated her for the Sunshine Blogger award. She has such great style, and is almost as creative as my mom. She’s been known to soak her white shirt in tea to change the color of it.
