Meet Dolly and Lily
To show off our amusing tops, we decided to take Lesley’s pups for a walk around the neighborhood. I am walking Dolly and Lesley is walking Lily. My mom, Charlotte, is sporting her cane from her hip replacement surgery only as a safety measure since these cuties were underfoot.
Yet just because we wore our graphic tees for a casual outing doesn’t mean that’s the only way to wear them. Most of us have many solid colored tees that we wear everywhere. Switching out the solid colored one for a graphic one (especially a graphic one that really speaks to you) gives your outfit a whole different vibe.
AND, graphic tees are the perfect way to add a casual element to any dressier item like a blazer or satin skirt. It’s that yin/yang idea or dichotomy in an outfit that is modern and playful.
Charlotte’s Sunflower Tee
My mom chose this sunflower graphic tee. This could be so perfect for many reasons. If you’ve ever seen some of the quotes about sunflowers, they are quite inspirational. Here are a couple:
“Advice from a sunflower: Be bright, sunny and positive. Spread seeds of happiness. Rise, shine and hold your head high.”
“Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadows. It’s what the sunflowers do.”
My mom ordered a medium and said it was true to size for her. She is usually either a small or medium so she went by the measurements given.
She commented that the fabric has a nice feel (they all have some stretch to them which is very nice.)
Because it was a little longer than she prefers, she tied it to shorten it.
Insider tip: My mom used a buckle to tie up her tee. You could either buy a buckle from a crafting store, or remove the buckle from a belt you never wear.
Lesley as a Mom
Lesley is a human mom to two girls, but this t-shirt was super cute since she is also a dog mom. For our outing, she wore it longer as more of a tunic length. (This exact tee is sold out but I’m linking to a grey one or a different one)
She commented that the weight of the tee was great with a good feel and quality. Again, she liked the stretch in it since not all tees have that feature. The color when she ordered it said red, but Lesley thinks it’s more burgundy.
Insider tip: Color is the HUGEST factor that you shouldn’t count on when ordering online. Every computer monitor or phone shows color differently. Yet remember that colors don’t have to MATCH to an outfit. They just have to go together to work.
As for the sizing, Lesley was apprehensive because she would normally get an XL. However, the measurements showed she needed a 3XL. Luckily she went with what the measurements said, and her t-shirt fits wonderfully.
Insider tip: Bellelily does have plus size options up to 3XL (make sure to check the measurements though). You can find them two ways.

Jodie’s Inspiration Tee
I yearn for more kindness in the world around us, so this graphic tee was exactly what I was looking for.
In case you can’t read the message, it says: “A little more kindness, a little less judgement.”
I ordered a small by the measurements and was happy it was not super tight. Just like my mom, I wanted to shorten it so I used my elastic tie trick.
My only concern is it doesn’t come with washing instructions in it. I see on the website it says polyester but it’s not that shiny, slick polyester. It’s very soft and I think there is some spandex in it for stretch.
I did wash it and put it in the dryer and it didn’t shrink.
BTW, if you think it’s hard to take group photos with the three of us, add in two dogs and see the how it goes, LOL!!
